Take a good look at some of the positive reviews and notice that they only come from accounts with 1 review or a small few more. Very few games in some of the accounts giving positive reviews also. VERY suspicious. A few things crop up in some of the positive reviews also: "Your PC can't handle da game lololol" and "the bugs will be fixed though!".
Speaks for itself. Keep away from this mess unless it's free or something.
Driving any car or motorcycle is wonky AF.
Hardly any customizeable features in a RPG. Its an RPG so not being able to even change your hairstyle or its color is beyond dumb.
Glitches everywhere!
Cant even bring up a console command without messing with files.
Male voice actor blows! Should have several options to pick from being that its supposed to be an RPG. Guess ill have to go with the female character and even then her voice isnt great.
Cant change character name. WTF kinda name is V? i try to ignore the name everytime its mentioned.
Game is best played when drunk or high and while making fun of everything so its actually enjoyable.
If this game was under FPS instead of RPG id understand but from the games previews i was 100% certain it was going to be a futuristic elder scrolls game. The company labeling this as an RPG is extremely misleading and they should change it immediate. DO NOT go into this game with the impression its anything better than a 1/10 and maybe youll actually enjoy it.
I didn't experience too many bugs while playing on the pc version, but the game overall fell flat for me. I would say the game is average for the rpg genre, and visually pretty.
Things that stopped me from loving it/finishing it:
1. Choices that didn't matter due to story predetermined narrative.
2. Loot system is cumbersome and more boring than usual.
3. Driving is more of a chore than fun.
I suggest waiting for a sale if you're interested in trying it out. I wouldn't pay more than 29.99 usd for this experience.
There is so much that they got wrong in this game: 1) are they targeting RPG players with what often feels like a FPS version of GTA instead? 2) Melee in first person is atrocious, I gave up after the first attempt at fist fighting, and stared sadly at the katanas in my backpack afterward... 3) Actually the whole 1st person thing is terrible, why would they even do that, when they had the beautiful 3rd person engine from the Witcher at their disposal?!? 4) The awkward pauses between lines in the dialogues are just as unforgivable as they sound unnatural, and to make it worse, if you instead take more than a nanosecond to read through the possible answers the NPCs start nagging you about it... 5) Driving a car is nearly impossible (do yourself a favor and ride a motorbike instead) 6) Who are all those weirdos that keep calling me at the phone (or cyberimplant or whatever)? 7) You make me customize my character's genitals and then he showers in underpants?!? 8) I was so disturbed by the gameplay that I skipped almost all the sidequests and went straight for the main story (really a bad sign).
All these things really make me think about a 1-star review and still... the relationship with Keanu Reeves' Johnny is worth exploring, the romance I pursued led to an interesting event, V's personal drama and your intimate view on it provide a great experience... in the end there is enough good for me to pump up that 1 star to 3, a real shame that it could not go higher than that
I really enjoyed the intro. I was able to spend more than 7 hours playing the intro plus side quests and really felt that this game was on par with Witcher 3. However it was once I finished the first Johnny mission that I found problems. Suddenly flooded with quests (most of which are menotinus and borning) and a sudden downgrade in game performance.
More than a year later and I just feel there is not enough here to excuse the launch. I love CDPR and hope they can improve. At least in this state there is only one way to go. Up.
Gameplay-wise I felt the car driving was horrible. I was hoping for something easy to control like Roach in W3 but it was way to touchy and not being able to control the direction of the car with your mouse is a bad move on the developer's part.
Overall, keep this alive because there is potential here, but in its current state it isn't very playable at all.
