Discounted premium key

Yup, as per the title, this is just a key to unlock the premium version of the map made by Piggyback, and it sells for a bit cheaper than on the Piggyback website. Benefits over the free version include, most importantly, the ability track completed tasks or found items, although this doesn't included main or side quests. You also get access to a high-res version of the map. But most importantly, it unlocks the locations of "hidden gems", high-value items hidden in chests or on bodies, often with an accompanying log to tell a story of how that item or dead person came to be there. While this is a great map, and I have no regrets about upgrading to the premium version, there are a few drawbacks: - Firstly, you have to manually tick off everything. It would've been so much less hassle if there was an API to let the map access game data directly, like with a number if third-party tools for Destiny 2. - Secondly, the map icons haven't been updated to the new style rolled out with patch 1.5. - Thirdly, V's new apartments and associated fast travel stations are absent. - Lastly, it would've been nice if there was a toggle to switch from the satellite view to the style present in the game, just to make it easier to correlate locations. Those gripes aside, it's $5 well spent just for the hidden gem locations, which I haven't seen in any other free maps.

Don't be misled by the "reviews"

DISCLAIMER: I have the premium version of the map because I own the collector's edition game guide (which includes the code for what you're buying here), thus I'm lacking the "Verified Owner" badge. As my review title says, do not be misled by the hate: this purchase isn't anywhere near as bad as many reviews here would lead you to believe. This is a paid upgrade for an otherwise free companion app-styled map that you can view through your browser. The basic version is free and offers enough functionality but this package is meant for people who don't have a copy of the guide. This companion map is a nice feature to run alongside your sessions of Cyberpunk 2077 because of how it helps in your exploration of Night City. Just like the game guides, it's absolutely NOT a necessity, but it's still a fun add on to the game experience (somewhat similar to the digital art book that came with the game), just further helping to immerse you in an already remarkably immersive video game while encouraging deeper exploration. I understand the complaint that there isn't any offline version; that is frustrating, but there's not really any way to make it offline without significantly stripping out a LOT of its features. It's not like GOG (or Piggyback for that matter) are misleading anyone, so why the complaints? Not only do the complaints use a VERY loose (and inaccurate) definition of DRM but people are literally only review bombing this because they don't like the fact that it's online, nevermind the fact that it's 100% optional. It's frustrating, because the map is remarkably well-made, having a Google Maps-style vibe to it, albeit set in Night City, of course, and it's a lot of fun to use. Overall, if you like the game and love exploring, this is worth purchasing (though I recommend buying a physical game guide instead, if you can). Just ignore the complaining because it is 100% as-advertised and a nice enhancement to your adventures in the dark future.

Remove this NEVER!²⁰⁷⁷

I'm just writing in order to counter all those non-verified owners brainless one star ratings. 1. All rightful customers of Piggyback's printed full game guide get this interactive map for free. Your free code is printed inside your bought guide. 2. If you ain't interested in buying that guide and are only interested in this interactive map, you can buy it separately. 3. The infamous people at CD Projekt Red make it possible to buy it here on GOG at a discount, whether for their most insidious or decent (non-)customers. You can still pay more directly on Piggyback's page, if you're nauseated by this discount this much. 4. The infamous people at Piggyback need to be paid for their work too. Everyone needs to pay their bills, not only communists. All game guide manufacturers do their work on their own by investing their own money and getting it back through sales. If it were different, Prima Games would still print their guides. They ain't subsidiary companies of any game publisher. 5. Maybe it's inappropriate sorting this map inside the DLC section. I propose it's more time than ever for an additional section, maybe call it "additional work from 3rd party manufacturers". It must be clearer, that there are independent manufacturers around, who don't get paid by publishers, but have a legal concern to get paid for their work, get their kids fed and all other bills paid. 6. I already had this map for free by buying the printed game guide, but since Prima Games is dead and there aren't many printers left, I support Piggyback's honest work by buying it here a second time. Deal with it, insidious communist menace!

Stop blaming GOG; that's blame-shifting

GOG home page: "We are GOG.COM, the DRM-free home for a /curated selection of games/." This DLC isn't a /game/; so, it technically doesn't need to be DRM-free, in order to be sold here. It isn't even needed for playing the game. It isn't /official/ DLC either. It isn't from CDPR. It's only available here to give players an easy way to integrate this into the GOG release, and give GOG some royalties for it. I'd rather buy it here rather than directly, just to pay GOG some of the money. Blame the developers of the DLC (Piggyback), for the online requirement. It would be better for them to let the DLC include an updated offline map, with the option to update periodically, instead of only being accessible through their website. I'd also blame Piggyback for the price; it seems a little high for the amount of content.

Works as intended. Its a map.

Its a CDPR licensed map with everything on it that is easily searchable from mobile devices. This honestly should have just been integrated into the game it is much more functional than in game map. The map has shortcuts divided up by; Exploration, vendors, gigs, ncpd scanner hustles, other activities, and misc. District boundries can also be made visible. Low resolution map is also available but limits zoom. You can place pins and you can name, color and leave a description by double clicking the pin, but only 1 at a time. Once editted you can then place a second pin. Login was required and registration was the norm. Verify email address and enter key you purchased. The key is located under CP 2077 serial keys. "Here's an idea, indicatate north. Less it's just a drawing."
