Review in Progress... Fun Platformer
[Update] I have completed the game and I stand by my previous comments, still a fun little game and I hope the devs are able to make another game! [Original Post] I'm only what feels like around 3/4 of the way through this game to be clear but wanted to give this game some minor attention since I have seen next to no coverage of this game online. I'm starting this as a 3 star review but may bump it pending how I'm feeling after completion. Plus this appears to be a GOG exclusive on PC for the time being (cloud saves, achievements, controller support). The claymation style with the simple 3D perspective is the hook that perked my interest initially. The platforming is simple and not too challenging. The levels have some variation that seems to fit the style the game is going for. It can be a little difficult to navigate some of the worlds when trying to be a completionist for the remaining cavemen and collectables. Game is running without any issues on AMD hardware (desktop and heldheld PCs) I have been playing the game between. This is a game better suited for controller to be quite honest, but being on PC you can pick what is best of course. I have noticed only a few minor bugs while but nothing game breaking. The menu option to quit from the "over world" does not seem to work, I have been loading a level up and then quitting. Also when jumping a little too high the gravity seems to give up and my character starts falling/floating a little strange, thankfully it doesn't last long and the game will recognize your out of bounds and reset your position. Other then that my only nitpick is that when saving a caveman your booted to the over world, which is nice for quick play sessions. I think it may be nice to have the option to stay in the level if your not quite ready to leave and keep collecting and clearing the stage. Overall this is a fun platformer with an interesting setting and gameplay for people seeking it.
