Description
Here at Jujubee, we’ve always thought that games should address current and serious topics. In the case of our historical-documentary game KURSK we touched on the subject of the Russian submarine tragedy and to what end an arms race could lead to, in Deep Diving Simulator we focused on issues related to the ecology and protection of our underwater world, and Realpolitiks tackles the problem of terrorism and migrations. In COVID: The Outbreak we allow the players to face the most current and touching topic of all - a pandemic of a dangerous virus.
As the leader of the Global Health Organization (GHO) your task is to contain the spread of a coronavirus and save humanity before it is too late.
In addition to crisis management, the game provides the players with information on how to behave in the event of an epidemic, what actions to take, and how to protect themselves and their loved ones in the most effective way. The game is based on the data published by WHO and on the information acquired from experts and consultants.
Through your actions, you will be able to see how difficult it is to manage during a crisis, what impact various decisions can have on an effective fight against a global epidemic, which can be caused by listening to charlatans or the lack of appropriate medical equipment.
The virus will adapt to your actions by means of mutation so you must predict and take into account its transmission abilities, time of incubation, drug resistance, and a whole lot more. Decide whether a country should close its borders and quarantine citizens to reduce the number of new infections, or construct new hospitals and emergency tents to speed up the recovery of the already infected. Choose wisely.
FEATURES:
- Pandemic Management - advise the world what needs to be done in order to survive the dreadful disease; manage funds, staff, medicine, and research priorities.
- Issue Emergency Decrees - declare national emergency and close borders, enforce obligatory vaccination, close schools and airports. Do whatever it takes to stop the coronavirus.

- Construct Vital Buildings - build hospitals, emergency tents, research institutions, checkpoints, police stations, and a whole lot more. Every building you enact may become the decisive factor in stopping the outbreak.

Taking advantage of the situation
The gameplay is no doubt mediocre at best. The problem with this is that the developers are very clearly trying to cash in on the current pandemic. There is nothing wrong with using real world scenarios for a game, however 80% profit kept for something they likely slapped together in a couple of months, clearly designed to take advantage of this pandemic, doesn't seem very nice does it? To all the lovely mature people who I'm so sure aren't biased or even hired by this rotten company who keep saying profound things such as "y'all need to chill blah blah y'all saying reee" etc. type of bs. Maybe take a few minutes to think about what they're very evidently doing, and if possible, stop being contrarians on something genuinely serious. It is extremely uncouth for a company to do what's being done here. I would love to buy this game and give it a proper review because I can tell just by looking at the screenshots that it's a boring pos. However I refuse to give any money to this company. The rest of this companies games don't look too hot either and so here we are, attempting to use controversy to drum up some sales. I'm not going to say I'm correct on this, but how long do people think it took them to crap this out, given how recent the pandemic is? Not very long I'd wager, best case scenario they renamed a pandemic clone. Stay away.

Brave, but not in a good way

I'm sure that the developers have an expert legal team who have scrutinised this, and can demonstrate that they have been given and incorporated the "most effective" health advice. A simple in-game disclaimer will not suffice. The developers have not laid out a fantasy setting - they are relating these claims to the current Covid-19 pandemic. Instead of buying this game, I have just now donated £10.00 to NHS Charities Together. If you live in the UK, you can google it to donate (100% will go to the cause), and then go and play a more uplifting game. I recommend Stardew Valley....

Don't act like if it's "just a game"
I don't care if you make a game about beating orphans with a really well balanced and profound gameplay, it will still be a horrible game.

... allowing something in such obviously poor taste on their platform. I don't care if this is seen as "off-topic" - no, there are lines you do not cross. This is profiting on peoples' actual, factual, real-life suffering. What is *wrong* with people, to think something like this is even remotely okay?
