it's unfinished. fine for a dozen hrs or so but once you level up your ship & crew the real problem is the missions don't change or scale w/your growth. every system outside of the starting one will all have the same 2 dozen or so missions w/the same payouts. and getting the most lucrative shipping payouts will require keeping your own journal of what planets in each system sell what. & being a pirate is suicide w/all the lower end ships & adds considerable stress to your crew as some combats can go on & on... & on. it's just not worth putting the time into unless you're just really into grinding to get the next ship.

As it is now, it's a funny "little" game you can waste a couple of days on. Some reasons why you can't spend more time are: 1. There is only one way of playing / beating the game. There are a few ships to choose from, but you end with a similar setup. PCs are not randomized: you hire the same person, it has the same traits (every game). 2. I had the best ship and all the research before leaving the first system... Something new needs to be added there, like improving existing room's efficiency further. 3. Then there are the bugs. They can be worked with, but some are quite annoying: - rooms are not used, crew starves and leaves (reload helps?) - when picking the third skill during promotion, the game allocates 0 skill on the SECOND task -> have to reload - the game crashes frequently, tries to access the internet (before or because of crash) without asking - ship's pathfinding during system flight and especially combat needs overhauling. Ramming almost impossible (even with fried enemy engines) There is promise in this game, the crew management and interaction is entertaining (just 'oh, we like the same food! you are a great guy!' is way too easy, come on!), but there is not enough 'meat', concerning exploration and research, different ship setups in the game (yet).

Judging by the reviews and the metacritic score i was sceptical. But i love spaceships so i gave it a try. And it turns out, this game is really good. The interesting part is how different genres and elements were mixed together to a tasty blend. The story is charming, the art style and the overall tone is very light hearted and cheerful. The crew management aspect is deeper than it seems at the first look and caring for your crew becomes enjoyable tougher as they increase in levels. Also the game make you really care for your crew and i started to fly with a not so effective team because i liked them much and didn't want to replace any of them. The trading part is great. The economic system is easy to understand but you will have to do some work before you get the best profits. Smuggling can be very exciting. Customizing your space ship is one of the best parts, i spent much time looking at my rooms and try to find a better and effective build for my smuggler ship. How you outfit your ship alters your game experience completely. The combat may be the weakest part of the game but its quite tactical and can get challenging. Unfortunately its very slow and some times tedious. Overall if you are a fan of space sims, FTL, Firefly and trading, you aren't turned away by a slow combat system and some longer waiting times during flights(also the loading times can be a bit long), you should try this game. At the time of this review the game is patched up and is much more stable and playable than it was at the release. Time to do some smuggling...

Really enjoying the campaign, simply getting the largest ships was a bit too easy, might have to replay it on a higher difficulty (if there is such a thing). Unfortunately it crashes with consistent regularity. Annoying, but not enough to really spoilt the charm of this game.

One of the rare games that do comsoadventures joyful, light, humoristic and amazing. Cool design, lovely sim-stylish gameplay on the board, even fights are interesting due to hackersshooters variety. I definitely love it. Cosmonautica for me is a mix of Space Rangers and Space Colony, super cool old games. But currently there are some minuses, I hope developers will fix them asap. The most annoying is that all quests in other solar system, except of the "home" system, are about fights. I really want to do smth else, not only fight with pirates. I hope for multiplayer in future. It will be nice to play in pair. Thank you, guys, for the reborn of cosmogames for my soul!
