Description
Cook, Serve, Delicious is a hardcore restaurant sim, one of the few in its genre that gives the players total control over where they want to take their restaurant. The game centers on an old, worn down restaurant in the SherriSoda Tower, which was once the heart of the building but closed down as business (and tenants) dropped to an all time low. But with the local economy rising back up and occupancy reaching its maximum, SherriSoda Tower has decided to bring back the old Cook, Serve, Delicious restaurant, and has given you complete control to bring it back to its old five star status of world class dining.

To do that, you’ll start with a few thousand dollars and thirty foods to choose from to put on your menu, as well as a host of restaurant equipment and more. Nearly everything is unlocked from the start of the game for you to purchase; this is your restaurant, and you must figure out the best strategy to get that restaurant packed with satisfied customers. Can you prove your culinary skills?

And if that weren’t enough, you’ll also have the opportunity to be cast in the Iron Cook television show, throw parties for offices in SherriSoda Tower, read virtual mail in your SherriSoda Tower Email account which ranges from game tips to crazy spam (nearly 500 emails in all), from customers providing feedback to your restaurant to opportunities such as being able to fund projects via “ClicknStart” and other big surprises!

With hours of content and tons of secrets and unlockables, Cook, Serve, Delicious will provide a big challenge for anyone who’s ready to take their crumbling, rat infested eatery to a luxurious Platinum Star Restaurant. Good luck!

(This special GOG release includes the Battle Kitchen Expansion Pack, never before available in a DRMfree format! This expansion adds local co-op, a whole new campaign with dozens of new levels and challenges, tons of additional features and improvements, and lots more!)

In its genre, is one of the best

Cook serve delicious is one of those game I find myself difficult to rate : in its genre ( which I can assume is the cooking / typing kind? although typing would imply full words and not just letters a) is one of the best, without a doubt. But if it is not, repetitions of tasks may be daunting after a while ( although the game does provide you with ample modes to try to expand the gameplay) and the pace of the game is too slow and it requires time to upgrade anything. In the end, Its a good cooking game with some pleasant presentation attached to it : both sound and visual art are alright and serving customers by typing words is, well, fun.

Simple, intense & addictive typing game

I couldn’t stop playing ‘Cook, Serve, Delicious!’. I thought I’d only spend a few hours playing this game that I got at major discount, but I ended up spending over 28 hours on it. That’s how addictive ‘CSD!’ is. ‘CSD!’ is not so much a restaurant simulator as a speed typing game. It tries to convey the intensity of cooking in a restaurant by having you press keyboard keys in the correct order as quickly as possible to prepare your customers’ orders. Even as a 90 to 100 WPM touch typist, I found the game moderately to highly challenging as it also puts my time management skills, reflexes and memory to the test. The goal is to elevate your hole-in-the-wall dining establishment to a platinum-starred restaurant by serving dishes on your menu quickly and accurately. Along the way, you’ll add new dishes to diversify your offerings that better fit your eatery’s rising status, and buy new equipment to make your burgeoning business (slightly) more efficient. Each round lasts a minimum of 20 in-game days, which I found to be a tad too long. Still, they did give me ample opportunities to hone my reflexes and time management skills. Thankfully, there are challenges to shake things up: periodic health inspections, bet challenges, cooking for online dating matches and VIPs, catering jobs, Iron Cook challenges, and Hungry Festivities events. While I’m aware ‘CSD!’ is a typing game that doesn’t aim of realism, I did find not being able to correct easily-fixable cooking mistakes and to do pre-service food prep (e.g., as a bonus stat boost) to be missed opportunities to round out the gameplay. But since the core gameplay is so simple and solid, these are just minor quibbles. Despite moments of contrived difficulty spike and some slightly imbalanced gameplay, ‘CSD!’ is an easy recommendation from me if you want a game that provides brief, but addictive bursts of distractions and/or challenge. Just be warned that a 10-minute session can easily turn into a 2-hour one.

Ore No Ryomi 3 ... pretty much

Sure they can no longer use the incredible rush hour music (some copywright related sheninigans i am sure, music companies pfft) but it is still basicaly the same game as that and i am glad for that. That being said it dose lack several things that future installments do have (like doing soup to each order or lasagna is wierd) so i do have to duct second star... yes song on its own is worth one whole star to me, it was the star of the show .) Plenty of improvements: more challanges, i do not remember iron cook for example from O.N.R. , i do believe the recipies are almost same and the dishes have seen only minor increase in the scope so this game sits in bit of an awkward middle between its free to play and much more refined sequels. If you are connesur of the series from its roots or curious owner of later installments it could be interesting choice but as first dip into the series it is supersceeded by 2 and i assume 3. Oh yeah also you are restauran owner of do it it all yourself style eatery and well do it all yourself .) tons of stressses when complex recipies pile up in your queue of orders might not seem liek fun but getting that perfect day with no averege or bad orders is all that much more satisfying (also it is veeery hard to outright fail a day so fear not you may not be perfect but you CAN make it through persistance... allbeit slower).

Cook Serve Delicious

An incredibly hectic microgame-based restaurant sim. In Cook, Serve, Delicious! you play as a restaurateur, opening your little cookhouse and hoping to reel in enough customers and cash to upgrade your tiny place into a 5-star world-renowned eatery. During the day you'll have customers trickle - or eventually pile - in to your restaurant and order food. Each item has an associated microgame, from opening a bottle of wine to putting the right toppings on a pizza, and getting it wrong can upset your clientele, which in turn creates "negative buzz" and detracts people from visiting. A lot of the game comes down to rote memorization of what sequence of buttons needs to be pressed for each order, but the sheer amount of food types and individual recipes within each one means that your mind will be reeling as your restaurant gets busier. It all blends together in a raucous, frantic scramble that is, at its peak, intensely stressful - but in a way that's still extremely fun. Between rounds you can change your menu for the following day, buy new foods and items for your restaurant, upgrade foods to more complicated but expensive versions, and even take part in specialist challenges, such as competing on the TV show Iron Cook. The game forces you to keep changing up your menu in order to manage your "buzz" so there's an element of needing to master as many different foods as possible, which keeps the game's panic levels high! At the higher levels of the game CSD is almost frustratingly difficult, but it's also a marvelously rewarding game. Its age is of no relevance, really; the formula is so beautifully simple that it has stayed a game I love coming back to for years now.
