Solid Action/Adventure that plays great

A short explanation of this game is The Force Unleashed as it should've played. But this is a solid action adventure game that has an insane story and atmosphere, that will suck you in until the very end. The controls are tough to master, but once you do you'll be destroying hordes of enemies. The graphics are great but demanding, although the game looks amazing even on medium settings. Be sure to play this with headphones or on a big system, because the audio is also amazing. There is one boss on the game that is optional, the anchor, that has given lots of people issues with their cards, both here and other platforms, but that's not a GoG issue, but the developer's. If you encounter this issue and want to defeat it, I recommend putting a ticket with Remedy. I did got over it through reducing the graphics settings, but I'm not so sure it has been patched yet. I beat this twice and wish there was a sequel at some point in the future.

Awesome game

Gameplay is top notch. The controls/abilities are great, side content is great, the storytelling is nice (it was interesting enough that I read all of the little details/notes I found), and there are some endearing characters that you meet along the way. Combat can be a little challenging which I love (going to do some challenge runs myself), but if you just want to enjoy the content you can toggle difficulty via accessibility settings without any penalty The graphics/art direction is pretty awesome too and the DLSS+Ray Tracing is in the top tier of implementation. - PS bonus content here https://www.gog.com/forum/control/how_to_unlock_the_the_preorderplaystation_outfits_bonus_mission Below are my negatives: - Lack of multiple saves. *WARNING*: After you beat the game, do not use Mission Select unless you want to go back to lose progress (if you go back to chapter 2 for example, you will only have what you had back in chapter 2). I recommend just keeping a spare save file outside the game if you want to jump around. Unfortunate inconvenience, but thankful for the freedom of PC gaming here. - Crash on a certain side boss involving clocks. The easiest fix to the crash I found is below: "Obeliskoid on the Nvidia Discord found a fix. There are two .dll files in the game directory. platform_rdwin10_f.dll. (a bad opcode here is causing the crash) and platform_rdwin7_f.dll. Back-up your rdwin10 file. Rename platform_rdwin7_f.dll to platform_rdwin10_f.dll to overwrite the windows 10 file. This fixed the crash for me. Not sure if it breaks anything else but you could always put the original rdwin10 file back after the boss fight." - Can't remove depth of field. I normally turn depth of field and motion blur off on pretty much every game I play, but there is no file or in-game setting to turn off DOF. DOF in this game isn't very intrusive in this game like others so I'd consider this a very minor gripe. Overall great!

Mastered Level Design and Gameplay

That's one of those game you wish you can forgot you play them to discover them all over again. This is en TPS where you play Jesse exploring the Federal Bureau Of Control. An immense building with paranormal event. In fact, it's inspired of the SCP fundation, a website collecting strange story about object and people doing wierd thing like paranormal thing but more scary. The gameplay is smooth and intuitive as hell. You can shoot, cover up, throw elements of the decors at your enemies, even the enemies themself. You have different kind of weapons that you unlock through the game, same for some capacties that you will unlock exploring the bureau and completing sidequests. So its very important to explore. I must say it's very satisfying to fight and the progression feeling is really awesome. The story is coherant and really make sense with the gameplay. The voice acting (english version) is good. The game and level desgin is incredible : you can feel remedy put an effort building the bureau. Some of the visual are so cool you just stop and start looking around just to appreciate the view. I recommand you explore all the bureau, because you will find letter and document that will tell you more about the bureau and what's hapening there. If you don't you will miss a lot of thing about the universe of the game. The staging also is great, some part where you play are just like musical-shooter are just awesome. Some blackspot : i had a lot, like one every two hours or less, crashes... maybe it's because my pc isn't strong enough but well. If you don't like reading you will miss a big part of the story of the game. To upgrade your weapons you have to found ressources dropped on enemies. So you have to go back in previous zone and it could be a little repetitive and grinding. A game with a strong gameplay and level design, a good story and a incredible staging. If you don't mind a little grinding and paranormal/spooky story, This is the game for you.

Serviceable game for 10$

To make a long story short, this is a pretty fun game. It looks nice, it plays nice, it runs nice (on a relatively old system). If you look at the trailer and think: "this looks fun", it will be. For a while. The story makes no sense for the most part, literally almost all of it is redacted. Even the wiki. Near the end, the game starts slowing you down with pointless padding stages, and you just want to get it over with. I didn't even bother to play the DLCs. If you're reading this, tbh -- just try to finish the game without doing any of the side-stuff. Otherwise, the game is WAY too long for what it's worth. In less TLDR: 1. It has some sort of VRAM leak, or something. At some point the game becomes unplayable, it constantly crashes, and crashes everything else as well with it. Without restarting the computer, you cannot return to play the game. 2. From mid-end of the game, it start employing boring gameplay mechanics to pad out your play time. Like: "Kill X amount of enemies to unlock the door!", or: "Wait for X amount of time, for the gondola to arrive!" -- what is this, 2001? A Ubisoft game? 3. The story is too "mysterious" for its own good. It's okay to not understand absolutely everything, but even after reading the wiki -- literally all of the important parts are laid out as: "Nobody knows why x y z happened / is the way it is..." So basically, they just wrote a bunch of random crap together with no meaning or purpose to it. Almost literally everything is redacted. The only important stuff to know, is w/e the cutscenes tell you. Everything else is a waste of time. While it may sound like it, I don't regret buying, and playing the game. But I doubt I'll replay it. The game outstays its welcome, and I didn't even complete any of the DLCs, just did the Jukebox and the Mold.

Good enough and pretty cool

I really, really like the game. It's not perfect, but nice. It runs good too. I've got GTX 1060, 8 GB RAM and 6x 2.8 GHz and I've somehow avoided the crashes and framerate drops I've seen mentioned. Knock on wood. The game obviously draws inspiration from the SCP-foundation, and with that in mind I'd have liked more. More weirdness and weird science. Scarier and more varied enemies. More to read and more people to talk to. What's there is good though. The combat involves several very satisfying super powers. I just love flinging large objects into enemies. Splatter them with the power of my mind was my favourite thing about the Mass Effect games, and I'm getting the same vibe here. All in all good. Shallow and a bit repetitive, especially if you're not into reading.
