Music is good, atmosphere is great. But too often felt like I was on railroads. Optimization is terrible and even on my RTX 4090 I would get 50 FPS at times, frequent stuttering and hitching when panning the camera.
FOV is very low
Music is good. Atmosphere is great and ererie. Setting is cool. But by the end you only have questions and no answers. Even major characters aren't fleshed out much and you just feel disappointed
Your sistere Ada is too perfect to care about or feel at all relatable. Literally not a single flaw, greatest human ever, which makes me DISLIKE her because she feels so fake and annoying because of it.
Lots of potential, but overall missed it. Likewise, lacking sufficient opportunity to truly explore
Any runniing sequence lacks tension and just feels like tedium, and they happen a lot
There is no fighting. I kept getting this Bioshock vibe, and I was waiting for weapons, but it is more like explore, discover the story, and run sometimes.
The run sections might have multiple paths but do not provide anything. The collectibles are not too hard to find, because there isn't much open exploration. It is more of a story where you control the walking. It is not a FPS, there are no magical powers.
But even as a story, you keep wishing they would explain more. I think that they run out of steam to continue the story, or were expecting a follow up game.
But what is included, is well done. For being an small indie developer, there are barely bugs, the game looks very good, and runs well. It just needed more content, and you can tell they did a decent job because the main complain is that it could be better, or needed more content.
It started off Ok in the game and the graphics are great- But the game play does suck and you find creaters killing you and you have no defence - Takes bloody ages to die and restart from saved position. I hate running away and blindy finding your way over and over again - you have to use someone else walkthrough to get anywhere. Such a disapointment and like most games you give up and just delete from your system. Its about time developers remember some people play for the enjoyment of playing puzzels and few action stunts but whn it gets to hard and no clues people turn off delete and never go back buying games form the same developer again - AL LEAST BIOSHOCK GO IT RIGHT -
It's not even close. It's not intended to be. It's intended to be a story.
PROS:
- This game is beautiful. The art direction is amazing. The water is better than in Starfield!! The whole look of it brings you in. It reminds me a lot of the original Myst.
CONS:
- The installer takes up 20G of your C drive whether you install it on your C drive or on an external drive. VERY annoying!!
- More annoying than that: Checkpoint saves! Since the game is story-driven, it's broken into chapters. It's also very slow. Unless you have gobs of time to spend on this game, you'll have to start at the last checkpoint.
- The game is a little too dark. I needed to adjust the brightness using Intel Graphics Command Center. Not a deal-breaker, though.
Looking forward to playing it when I have more time.
