Cleo - a pirate's tale

In response to other reviewers... The dialogues are fun to listen to, clicking speeds them along. The puzzles are simple and make perfect sense if you think about them for a minute. There are 3 or 4 mandatory mini-games (card game) I won them all first time. But I must've been cheating, right? Very straight-forward and save your game before attempting them, easy. Just use your brain. I found this little gem to be an utter delight at every turn. the characters were fun, the VA was excellent and the art... my god, the art.. by ONE guy! A fantastic way to spend 6ish hours

Beautiful point-and-click pixelart adventure game, with great story, captivating voice acting and lovely music. I can't believe all of this was created by only one person! Hat off to Christoph Schultz. Game took me couple hours to finish and the puzzles are very simple and quite logical (got stuck only once or twice). There are always some characters (or narrator) hinting what should be your next step. Also there is lot of hidden references to old popular games in the genre (the pirate on a chandelier!). Addresing some other comments: Kraken Fodder minigame has some luck factor in it, but some thinking is required as well and I didn't have any problem with it (lost my first game when I was just learning it, but afterwards noone could beat me). Dialogs can be skipped with mouse button, movement and overall user input feedback speed is quite good. Overall one of the better point-and-click adventures released in recent years. Highly recommend if you are fan of the genre.

This is a just a nice throwback retro pixel adventure game. I found everything to be good. decent story, graphics, music, puzzles... I even enjoyed the kraken fodder minigame. It's not humongously long but it's worth the price, even more so if you get it during a sale. So, if you're into adventure games with a hint of nostalgia, then by all means, give this a go. I could technically end there But you know what the most amazing thing about this game is? Well apparently, it was all done by one guy. ONE!! Put into perspective, it should get a million stars! Yeah, I know it doesn't make it a better game per se, but just to think that there are games out there, that lots of people were working on and thousands, if not millions, of dollarpounds were spent on... and they still ended up being unplayable POS'ses. It boggles the mind. So yeah, I might have given this one the 5th star just because of that.

If you're a fan of classic Lucasrt Point-and-Click adventure games, this one will get you exactly where you need to go. It's got lovely music, great art and character design, and I feel the difficulty, while a tad on the easier side, is great. I would have loved for a game that was a bit longer or a few puzzles where you got to revisit past locations in a new context, but this is a great one to check out.
