Children of Morta

Good story (not a new plot but a really nice writing), good pleasure to play all characters all through the game. I really liked this game. My only criticism is to not have a new game+ because at the end of game the challenge decreases (but it is good all the rest of game).

A MASTERPIECE. Massive thumbs up ! This is how to do rogue-like games! tl;dr version: If you haven't yet, BUY THIS GAME NOW. Normally I absolutely despise" rogue-like" games with procedurally generated levels and regard them as a cancer. An easy way out of good level design and actual content. Not even Dead Cells was enjoyable for me. This game is different and is the first of its kind I have been able to enjoy... because it doesn't waste my time, asssuming I have endless amounts of it. A failed "run" is not wasted time and the game is not mean with its dice rolls. You will always get some good power-ups for your character, and get rewarded for your efforts in some way. On top of that, it is clearly a work of love by people who understand what the vast majority of people who play games actually enjoy. Not the "harder core than thou" vocal minority that seem to thrive on mindless grinding and repetition but the silent majority that doesnt normally comment on gaming forums and has a limited amount of time and energy to invest in a video game. (This doesn't mean this is a "casual" button masher!) On top of that, it looks and sounds absolutely fantastic. The pixel art is incredible, and I'm using the overused word "incredible " here in its full meaning... If you appreciatre pixel art you absolutely MUST BUY THIS GAME! ON TOP OF ALL THAT, it controls well and runs without bugs, it has local 2-player.. and did I mention it is ridiculously fun and addictive? The attention to detail is impressive, the animations a pure delight, the character and world design are all fantastic. My only minor criticism is that the melee characters are not as much fun to play for me due to the nature of certain enemies. Dead Mage are now firmly on my radar, well done ladies and gentlemen! You deserve all the rewards for this monumental effort!

It's a fun time. It is heavily action focused, but structured in a way where you can play multiple different characters each with different fighting styles. Advancing one character benefits them all. On the one hand this is good, because you get a lot of variety. On the other hand it somewhat requires you to spend time levelling up characters you might not enjoy to get certain shared perks that you may need to get anywhere with characters you actually like. The game describes itself as story focused. I would say it is more character focused. The overall story is pretty mediocre and predictable, but there are character development moments within it that succeed at being heartfelt. The maps are randomly generated and playing through only to die and have to play through again is a little tedious at times. The variety of characters helps with this. It definitely has it's charms overall, especially if you are a fan of action focused role playing.

I have completed this game for 16 hours and this is too long ofr this "simple" game. In CoM you fill find 3 different levels with a lot of enemies and they do not bring in game diversity. Developers added bad carruption mechanic that can't let you play on your main character even in end of the game. This game has a good visual, good story with good characters. Tou have a lot of different characters, but the first one is the strongest, he can't die. Some items in the game are too OP, some bosses are broken and too easy. So you will like this game if you are a real fan of rogue-like games and love to farm boring enemies. In another way, you won't complete this game. I hope devs will fix this problems in the next patches.

CoM very interesting game even for casual players for evening session with wife/children. The game plays like Diablo, but without gear numbers and linear equations with guides stuff. Just play with gamepad and enjoy the process. Very recommended!
