MEET THE CHICKEN POLICE
Sonny Featherland and Marty MacChicken were once a legendary detective-duo, the Chicken Police. But that was almost a decade ago, and time had passed them by... Now, Sonny is just a semi-alcoholic wreck of a bird on his paid leave, while Marty still hides behind the facade of a star-detective. During their last case, they nearly killed each other, and they haven't spoken ever since...
Now Sonny and Marty are forced to work together on a case that's weirder and wilder than anything they've ever encountered before!
NARRATIVE-DRIVEN, DETECTIVE GAMEPLAY
Chicken Police is a story-rich, dialogue-heavy adventure, combining elements of the visual novels and classic adventure games. The game has more than 30 characters to talk to, with some having to be seriously interrogated.
Collect tons of clues, evidence, and highly sensitive personal inform ation from the shady characters of Clawville to use ruthlessly against them!
EXPLORE THE CITY OF CLAWVILLE (again, and again...)
There are more than 30 places to visit and some of them will change several times during the story. You can return to previous locations on several occasions to find hidden secrets, meet new characters, or gather information about the world and its inhabitants.
A CINEMATIC EXPERIENCE
Chicken Police has a weirdly-stunning visual style made with the usage of real photos and photo-realistic 3D backgrounds, inspired by classic film-noir movies like The Big Sleep, Double Indemnity or Gilda and games like Grim Fandango, Policenauts, Snatcher, L.A.Noire, Aviary Attorney or the Tex Murphy series. The game was also heavily influenced by animated features like Porco Rosso, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and the series: BoJack Horseman.
The noir mood is enhanced by an original musical score, backed up by professional voice acting from the studio that brought you the voices of The Wolf Among Us, Horizon Zero Dawn and Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide 2.
The game is 100% voice-acted with more than 8+ hours of spoken dialogue!
CLAWVILLE NEVER SLEEPS
"This city never sleeps - they say.
Maybe that's why it is so cranky all the time."
The city of Clawville was built as an Edenic place, where predators and prey can live in peace. But the dream remained just a dream while Clawville slowly became the darkest corner of all the Wilderness.
Chicken Police is a satire, which recalls the mood and atmosphere of the 40's film-noir classics, and as the best noirs and hardboiled detective stories, it's so gritty and hopeless, that it can only be served with a lot of cynical humor...
QUOTES ABOUT US
FORBES:"It's also clear from the trailer that its dark story will be pretty funny, with plenty of scope to establish it as one of the more unique releases in its genre. Needless to say, there'll be absolutely nothing like it released during 2020, and hopefully, it'll be as brilliant as it is different."
DESCTRUCTOID:"I know I mostly cover animal-based games, but few have ever stopped me dead in my tracks like this one. I mean, did you hear that song in the trailer? That's original music, baby! I'm a sucker for games with quirky themes and original music, so of course, I took notice to this one straight away. Mix that with the animals-as-people motif and spot-on detective visuals, and yeah I didn't really stand a chance."
ROCK PAPER SHOTGUN: "Fortunately I’m batting my jet-lagged eyes at Chicken Police, an upcoming noir detective adventure with grizzled chickens and a very good raccoon. It’s a point and clicker, which means I’ll almost certainly never play it. But I’d still like you to revel in this trailer with me. It’s a cinematographic masterpiece."

I LOVE the characters, the world, the story, the voice acting the animation, the music, the art style...it's all fantastic!
But this game is not without it's issues which to be fair I probably wouldn't notice or care about if I didn't love the rest of it so much.
The Detective mini-game doesn't make a lot of sense. Lines of questioning seem almost random and although there's a big to-do about different characters having weaknesses or you're told to press certain issues I didn't see a big correlation between these suggestions and success.
Some scenes have mismatched dialogue and voice acting. Not a big issue, just one I noticed.
One scene talking to Natasha had no dialogue at all: just text. I think that was an oversight.
Besides these little tiny problems I had no technical issues and I'm enjoying my time!
I just want to remind the developers maybe to take another look at their work. It's too good in so many ways to have these little problems mar it.
Everything about this game from top to bottom screams quality. From the beautiful Black and White 1940's style Film-Noir aesthetic, the smooth music in the background, absolutely delightful art, voice acting that exceeds all expectations and most of all, an engaging story. Everything in this game is so carefully crafted that it'll be a title that you won't forget.
On the surface this game seems like a borderline meme. Every being in the world is half-human/half-animal. You play as cops who are chickens. How could any bit of this really work in a serious manner? Well, quite easily and right from the opening moments of the game it's impossible to ignore how carefully this game was written. While there are many tongue in cheek moments/references, it's never at the expense of the overall story. Make no mistake, the world this game portrays and the story within are actually serious. Sure the word "Cluck" is a swear and the some of the designs/voices definitely provide humor but the tale is dark and the world itself has some seriously engaging lore that invests you into everything. The game stopped being a meme and became a genuinely great detective story in the very first chapter.
The runtime for the game if you do everything is about 10 hours. Significantly less if you skip optional scenes. The game is very much on rails and failure states are incredibly rare, so if you're after a challenge this ain't it. The only complaint that I can even give is that it feels like some scenes drag on way too long. However, most of these scenes that dragged on fell under the optional category. I'd also say a lot of these optional scenes really shouldn't be optional with how much important information you learn. You can also easily miss a lot of dialogue if you're not careful. Sometimes you need to talk to someone 3 or 4 times to hear all their lines and the game doesn't make it clear.
Chicken Police is fantastic with minor flaws. Give it a look if you want a unique mystery.
I love this game. Its a Noir crime detective that pays its roots to point and click games of old. I love this game so much with its great charachters, setting, 1930's jazz soundtrack and perfect cast voice cast. A true joy in my opition.
I don't particularly care for Point and click games. Genreally the Lunar Logic present in such games is a huge turn off to me; plus, if I'm being honest, I lack the patience to get through them. But, so far, I love this game. I'm only a few hours in, but I am hooked.
The interaction is fairly minimal, and it almost feels like a 'choose your own adventure' model, but I've only just begun and the detective elements promise to deepen the gameplay.
Music
Outstanding. Beautiful, fitting, and helps to sell the atmosphere.
UI
Very clean and well integrated. You can see several elemetns in the screenshot - it is clean, easy to use/intuitive, and thematic.
Voice Acting
Excellent. So far I have heard about a dozen characters speak; the accents seem spot-on (to my untrained ear), fitting to the character, and it doesn't sound/feel like only a handful of voice actors did all of the parts.
Characters
Most are tropish, but fitting. Each character (visual, voice, acting) just... well... fits. Colorful and entertaining.
Story
I'm no expert, but I read a ton, watch a little, and believe there is no such thing as an original story. It is all in how the story is told - so far, this story is told very well!
Okay, so I've been singing the praises, now for the cons; keeping in mind these are subjective.
The tutrorials are good, once in a while though you 'll have to do somehting that isn't explained very well (for instance, to reload your revolver, right-click. Easy to figure out, but they don't tell you that - or, at least, it didn't for me).
Be prepared to get comfy and watch. There is a ton of dialog; I'm not knocking this (it is excellent dialog!), but it doesn't feel like I'm playing so much as watching. Therefore, I play in short spurts.
The good far outweighs the, I hesitate to call it 'bad', I haven't found any 'bad', really. Just nitpicks.
TL;DR
Excellent atmosphere
Beautiful music
Fun and engaging dialog
Cohesive art direction
This game took me by surprise - haven't heard of it before. After trying the demo, I decided to buy it (on a different platform) and didn't regret it. The story is good and has you guessing till the end (but makes sense from the beginning), voice acting is top notch, setting is also original. There are some issues with text not matching the voiceover (but the context is always preserved), some puzzles aren't perfect, but it's all minor issues compared to the very solid foundation of great writing, story and voice acting.
