Description
John Chaser is a man without memory or friends. Alone, in the middle of a bloody conflict, he is trying to find out who he is. His extraordinary fighting abilities enable him to survive, but they raise more questions than they answer. Chaser awakens on board the spaceship H.M.S. Majestic. He doesn't know why he is being sought by men in black uniforms and what they will do to him when they find him… The story leads you from the H.M.S. Majestic to Montack City on Earth, then on to Siberia and finally to Mars, where the trail ends and hopefully the truth can be found.
  • A gripping story full of intrigue, plot twists and believable characters.
  • Unique game design for a shooter, focused on the story and its presentation through long, thrilling cutscenes.
  • Fast-paced action with over a dozen weapon types and a skill-heavy "bullet time" mode.

Fun game...downer anticlimax

I am a huge fan of 3D FPS games; Duke Nukem, Serious Sam, etc. After 4 or 5 years ago I started looking for all the ones I missed. back in the 20th. Found Chaser on CD and others on Amazon. Like some of the Duke Nukem add-ons there were compatibility problems with Windows XP and 7. After finding fixes I played it through to it's miserable ending. I enjoyed the story and game play right up to the flat ending clip. The beginning parts of the game have an interesting unique scenario and each section of the game offers a new challenge of some kind. Good noisy fun right up to the end.

Awkwardness up the Wahzoo!

I am very disappointed with this game right now, because I can't get past the first level. The problem is in the controls being excessively awkward. I can't seem to time my crouch with my jump to super jump while still moving forward. That being said graphics and soundtrack of this game are both respectable. Minute details make for a splendid experience such as your shells/casings, landing on the ground at your feet after firing, and ricocheting bullets. ...I just wish I had something better control wise (like not requiring a super jump with such awkwardness to even use it)

"Sorry, goodbye chico..."

In this mission (I think it's the second or third) you will understand how bad this game is. And if that's not enough, the next mission will be the definitive test! This game is rubbish in every way... It even seems like the developers released a beta version and called it a day. And there is also no way to skip the cut scenes, which are long and boring! I don't know if this is a problem for you... For me it is. Anyway, If you want a decent FPS with a "secret agent" vibe, try XIII (vanilla), but avoid the remake which is also radioactive waste.

One of the best

I don't know how many times I've finished Chaser. The story and everthing were superb for the days. Especially the music is just for my taste. I have a special connection to this game. Not much games achieved that.

Some specifications

I often miss certain information in reviews. Therefore I post it here for people like me, who need it quick and easy. Playtime: ~20 hrs. - Levels: ~37; from small to huge; bleak design - Backtracking between levels: no - Secrets: no - Achievements: no - Unlockables: no - Collectables: no - Replayability: rather not - Sense of wonder: a bit in the second half
