Being the official mascot of Valley Children’s Hospital, George symbolizes love and care found at Valley Children’s. Being a hero for children for nearly 70 years, he was involved in many activities and projects. Now he’ll put smiles on their faces as a protagonist of the video game Castle on the Coast. A portion of the sales revenue will support the Valley Children's Hospital programs, which provide Central California’s only high-quality, comprehensive care exclusively for children, from before birth to young adulthood.

absolutely underappreciated gem
Big Heart Productions and Klabater have really put something special together here. Revenue from the game supports Valley Childrens Hospital, and the game stands up on its own, as a competent platformer that bleeds with charm. At the start of the game, during the tutorial and initial hub world, George the Giraffe may feel a little floaty, but you're quickly able to get used to the character's specific physics-- which, by the way, are very impressive for any indie effort: George can double-jump, dive, edge-climb, wall-run, wall-jump, use vehicles, and roll around -all with seamless motion that feels very smooth and agile. for content: there is drop-in and out co-op, a not-too-long (but very free-form) campaign, and an arcade mode-- combined with great art, fun character and level designs, and a family-friendly story, everything here ties together an engaging yet relaxed experience. my only regret is that i didn't get this game sooner. around the game's release, i hesitated to get the game, after reading some negative reviews, and then forgot about the game for a long while. i can say with total confidence that any negative reviews are unfair, and miss the fact that this is a fun and charming game, created for a good cause. i highly recommend!

Solid platforming
The game is a very solid platformer similar to the older cartoony early 3D platformers from the 90s. It has colorful areas where you pick up keys (stars) to open more areas. It has jokes, the main character is actually pretty funny even though he doesn't talk, the rest of the characters are fully voiced. The jumping and overall moving and jumping around is pretty smooth and fun and you can even drive vehicles at some point. Vehicles can be a bit wonky, but it's manageable. But the best part is that the game is not as hard as kids games from the 90s. You can die by falling in death pits or losing in occasional combat (the game has bossfights and some minor annoying hostile creatures that attack you), but it just puts you on a checkpoint and you can continue, you can't run out of lives and game over. In fact, you can turn deaths off in options, but I assume it doesn't apply to death pits lol :D It's not a very long game, but it's entertaining throughout the whole gameplay time, especially if you like platformers.

Good children's platformer
This is a good platformer game that would appeal to children - the game features bright and colorful design. The movement is generally forgiving, but younger children may struggle with the puzzles in some sections that require more dexterity unless they use co-op mode with an older player. The NPC dialogue and the plot is rather simple, and the game probably takes 3-4 hours to play through.
