Description
Journey through the night-time city in this charming card-playing game. Meet bizarre and familiar faces while battling your way through bars, dark alleys and shady corporations.

Card City Nights is an adventure through a city filled with card-nuts and lunatics. Battle for the 8 legendary cards to enter the biggest competition this city has seen yet.

CCN is not a traditional card-trading game. It's an adventure game with zany characters to meet and weird locations to explore. In the center is our new card battle system that breaks away from the fantasy TCG mold with connecting cards to form combos.
  • Adventure and Cards, finally together!
  • 180 unique cards with characters from the Ludosity universe
  • Amazing soundtrack in a blend of Jazz and Hiphop

Great single player card game.

While I haven't purchased it in GOG, I have played it on my Steam account many months ago. For fans of card games, it is surprisingly deep. The game offers surprising number of deck types for you to experiment with, and diverse challenging AIs (and a couple downright unfair). The game is very well paced, giving you enough cards to progress without excessive grinding . . unlike many MANY other card games out there. (Hearthstone, Clash of Dragons, Magic Duels, etc . .) My only complaint is that the game doesn't offer multiplayer, but then again, it is only $4 for roughly 8~10 hour single player mode. I have spent more than 15 hours completing all the Steam Achievements and experimenting decks. If you are considering spending few bucks on Hearthstone or other card games, I recommend you rather spend your money on this game. You won't regret it.

Solid game for the price

I played the gravy out of this game on my phone. It is worth mentioning that there is no Micro-transaction/DLC/Energy bar systems in this game, even on the mobile version. The gameplay is simple but offers a some new fun things to mess with, as it combines match 3 mechanics with traditional cardplay. With no multiplayer there not much reason to keep on playing after completing the single player campaign. But this game is so laid back and casual it is hard to tell how enjoyable a"competitive" multiplayer scene would be. Overall you will find a neat little card game that's as cheap as a couple of boosters. If you are a fan of card games its worth picking this one up.

Stylish, well polished and tons of fun

This lovely game can't be considered a budget title, although its insanely cheap for what it delivers. Card City nights features a wacky -and wild- selection of charismatic characters and decks, filled with cartoon-ish designs that will keep you pumped for a lot ot time. I personally have +20h of this game (it really needs some achievements in here, they're a nice addition to the base game) played on Linux and it surely is a title I won't forget too soon. The later opponents you'll face are tough but you'll end up practicing a lot and the aforementioned "pumped" time will be the foundation to keep you going. I just don't know how the Ludosity folks can creat such amazing characters (mostly simple ones!) and keep the story fresh - and fluid. Add it to the cart and go have some intense fun (tons of it) ps: I've enjoyed Card City Nights while taking care of my recently born twin kids, so I used a wireless mouse on one hand while holding (and feeding) one of them with a baby bottle with the other hand. That's what I call hardcore :P

Cute little game with a nice atmosphere.

The only thing I don't like about this game is its interface, it's clearly designed for touchscreen and simply feels off to use with a mouse. There's a lot of cute characters in this game and lots of cameos, the story is simple but fun and the game has a nice atmosphere throughout. The music is also very good, it sets a nice tone and creates a good mood. It's not a long game but long enough for its price. It is possible to get a lot of hours out of it if you want to collect all of the cards due to the grind that may take, this is because of the low drop rates for the rarer cards which can't be gotten any other way. There is a shop where you can buy copies of common, uncommon, fusion and beta cards you have already acquired by battling the other card players. But you gain gold very slowly (by battling those same card players). Eventually you also unlock a place where you can fuse some of your cards together into new cards. The card game itself is very simple, kids should be able to grasp it easily and have a lot of fun with it. It's a little too simple for adults I think, adults will immediately understand what kind of deck will fair far better and be able to complete the game quickly. While there are many card combination to be made there are few good decks possible due to how cards have to be linked in order to work.

Potential, But ...

This game has a lot of potential to be something great, but it was quickly ruined by the cheating A.I. during the last card battle. The game was set by a certain amount of rules throughout the game (i.e. only one special card per deck, and only a certain amount of basic cards per deck), but these rules go completely out the door during the last battle. The computer is able to use more than 1 special card per deck, and has an unlimited amount of other cards (disable and health cards), while the player is still limited to the rules. This really makes the last battle feel extremely unfair. I don't mind a challenge, but this took it a little too far.
