Call of Juarez

This game might not be as "mainstream" as its sequels, but it's no less worth playing if you're in the mood for a slightly janky quicksave shooter. Ironically though, I would recommend playing Bound in Blood (the prequel) first if you haven't already. It sets up the story for the original quite well

I played the original Call of Juarez for the first time shortly after the original release and came back for a replay about a week ago. The game is not flawless and the age is starting to show a bit (mainly on the graphical side), but it aged really well nonetheless. I was a bit afraid of ruining the good memories I had with the game, but instead I now appreciate it even more. For me Call of Juarez will forever remain one of the best stories ever told in gaming. As for the gameplay it is still really fun after all these years and it perfectly manages to scratch that akimbo gunslinger itch. On the contrary gun duel sections feel a bit clunky. I also found some of the platforming sections slightly boring back in the day and unfortunately this is still the case for me, but the feature does not really ruin the game. Taking a look at all the hidden collectibles and their outright hilarious descriptions - it seems the devs had a lot of fun making the game. I can say with clear conscience that the game is worth its price, especially when it goes on sale.

Man, I remember playing this back in the day! An ol'west FPS ( with some very bleak ''polish'' influences) that mixes stealth scenes and ''traditional'' FPS gameplay, even with some nice physics engine, and a good story to boot! Now, it has aged a little, and it's quite ''slow'' in the gameplay, but that doesn't mean it's not playable, or enjoyable, for that matter, considered there's still a fan base that want the saga to continue! P.S.. At mission 5, if the game crushes, start the game up through DX10 (go to GoG galaxy main game's page, additional executable. the option is right there).

I don't know want to not say: - Amazing quick time events where you ACTUALLY do something. Drag your mouse down then back up to grab your gun, dodge the bullets and take your shot - Great narrative. I won't say anything about it because the twist is ATCUALLY good! - Game plan feels original and new everytime. - Great voice-acting, definitely Reverand Ray - Guns work amazingly, fanning the hammer, dead-eye, rifles, shotguns, whips, and MORE! This is the definition of a Wild West Shooter. It doesn't fall into the bland generalization of other shooters, this is its own thing, and is beautiful!

Best game ever, I don't care if it feels like a janky Xbox360 game from 2008, this is a fun experience that let's me pour in my imagniation and focus in the guise of this rip-roaring game. 10/10 I invite anyone who has ever liked a Wild West movie or video game to play this!
