Call of Juarez

it's an old game so you can expect some clankiness, but it's a good western game and the shooting is good. The most annoying part is doing parkour with the lazo but it's not done bad.

The physic engine is good, There are a lot of interesting mechanics, thanks to the dual characters arcs too. Action shooter, stealth with thunders to exploit to cover one's own sounds, a bit of Indiana Jones, etc. This game really show various way to make a western first person game. Alas, shooting apart, they are underused. A lot of good interactions have only sense in scripted moments. Very sad, because with a different level design and more freedom, it could have been a great immersive sim. Not it is just a good adventure shooting game with a lot of variety in levels. Plot and atmosphere are very good. The story is simple, but music and dubbing elevate it. 3. Plus 0.5 if I don't think too much about the missed opportunity.

As clunky and janky as you imagine.

I managed to finish the game and enjoyed the environments and story well enough. Gamplay was a tad clumsy in particular the rope swinging/climbing. Definitely worth checking out if you are a fan of western environments.
