Bzzzt is a fast-paced "jump-dash-run" retro game with a fresh and modern design made almost single-handedly by one solo developer, Karel Matejka, known as Ko.dll.
Inspired by the 80's tech revolution, this beautiful pixel-art precision platformer transports you back in time with a brand new adventure, paying homage to the popular and much loved gaming designs of the past.
The year is 4096.
In a top-secret laboratory, inventive Doctor Emily and world-renowned Professor Norbert are working on a highly classified project. Through their joint research and intellect, they finally created a tiny robot with a big AI personality! No larger than a regular household toaster, but with some extraordinary skills, ZX8000 is ready to save the world, one platform challenge at a time!
Meanwhile, other dark influences are at play in the world of Bzzzt. The evil mad scientist, Badbert, prepares to unleash his nefarious plans upon an unsuspecting world as soon as he finds the perfect equilibrium of darkness, malice and madness. Bwahahaha.
Grab your controller or keyboard and navigate ZX8000 to complete his missions and thwart Badbert's evil plans!

When a game of this quality can be had for just a few bucks... mate. This is fantastic. If you like things like Jumpjet Rex you'll be right at home here
Nice simple platformer with great pixel art and nice music going for it.
The controls are tight, I never felt like I died because of dropped inputs or anything like that.
The game does get rather tricky with it's one hit and you restart difficulty, and a few levels near the end got a bit long for that to be enjoyable.
Lengthwise, I beat the main game in around two and a half hour, having replayed several levels to get all bolts and a couple going for the time challenge as well. This does offer some replayability, but also a caveat:
The trophy times are really tight, and there are plenty of extra levels after the story locked behind getting flawless runs (all bolts AND under par time).
Though I enjoyed my time with the game, I'm not sure I want to go back through it to perfect enough levels to see all those.
Played it. Streamed it. Loved it.
This game alone is better than what the majority of AAA Studios releases nowdays: lovely graphics, simple and fun story, challenging but not too difficult, AMAZING music, perfect controls and tons of nostalgic easter eggs.
A game that deserves SO MUCH MORE than what it is getting.
I suggest it to everyone.
This game has my favorite combo: Challenging but failure is not heavily punished. it's a well polished, straight forward experience. Nice level design, fun music and most importantly it has tight controls.
If you like games like celeste or super meatboy, you should check this out especially if it's on sale and it often is. It also has a demo so you can see for yourself if it's for you.
