Description
After reluctantly battling dragons, Mayan gods, and becoming a Knight of a long lost Holy Order, unwitting hero George Stobbart settles down to a life of mundane 9-5 office work. Who would have thought that a mysterious and beautiful woman would enter his life; a woman whose sudden disappearance draws him into a desperate search for a nefarious artifact of great and terrible power?

Heralded as the greatest bastion of true adventure gaming, Broken Sword: The Angel of Death draws the player in to a dark world of conspiracy theories, daring adventures, and ancient societies. Excellent story with many references to the Bible greatly improve the already fantastic feeling of immersion and make the tale gripping and believable. So if you are an adventure genre fan this is a no-brainer.
  • Last installment of the legendary series now in 3D with high quality music and top notch voiceovers.
  • The atmosphere of mystery and danger will accompany you throughout the whole adventure.
  • Engrossing storyline and well written dialogue will keep you hooked for hours.

Technical problems

This game is not bad (I would rate it three stars) but some technical problems have ruined the end of the game (a lot of lags). So just to summary my opinion: Good features: -Mouse point and click (the previous episode was action oriented) -Not so bad story -Nice puzzles Bad features: -Technical problems (at least on my PC where I've observed a lot of lags at the end)-> I've 2.13 GHZ 2 core and 4 GB RAM + 1GB graphic card -The character design is not very convincing if compaired to the first episodes (1 and 2). So I would recommend this game only for fans of the serie but not for other peoples

Did not like this game AT ALL

This game is really bad: the 3D doesn't work well, the weird mix between using the mouse and the arrows doesn't work, it has some of the most illogical puzzles (manuscripts!) I have ever encountered in an adventure game, you can't skip dialogs, a lot of times you have to do some things in a certain order to unlock an action, the "stealth" sections are pretty lame with guards that have magical eyes in the back and sometimes don't see you 2 meters away, the hacking games are way to many.... and I could go on and on with the downsides of this game. Only play it if you want to complete all the Broken Swords. I haven't played BS5 yet but it seems that it won't have been necessary to play this game (story-wise). This is the worst Broken Sword game BY FAR.

Really bland

Where to start... the controls in this one feel really clunky. BS3 let go of the mouse control for a 3D environment. It feels like Revolution tried to bring back the point and click style while keeping the best of 3D but failed miserably. Unlike BS3 it isn't always known what an action will do having to guess when a click will result in climbing, letting go or jumping. Action zones at times are like "pick the correct pixel" where you know an action can be performed but have to find the precise correct spot to click on. Characters often get stuck making it necessary to use the keyboard to move them into the correct position. Perspectives get mixed up so you have to move away and back. The puzzles are mostly unintuitive where even if you know where the answer lies you can't seem to complete it having to either try all possibilities or try a walkthrough to see the answer is "shift one position more" for no real reason at all. Even after completing a puzzle it's sometimes a complete mystery why a certain object was used. All of this may be forgiven if the story was impressive but after BS1&2 it just feels mediocre. In several places they use the old cop out deus ex machina leaving gaps and unanswered questions in the story line. If the ending of BS3 made you feel as though they had no original ideas left the idea is certainly reinforced here with several clichés being used. In the end you are just left wanting something more and different and not the classic James Bond scenario where the guy will be alone even when finding the right girl. The ending isn't just undesirable but also feels unnecessary with the good and bad guys turning sides more often than a blender without leaving adequate explanation for their actions. Revolution has really dropped the ball more since BS3 trying to milk an original idea and fitting it into every story. Maybe after this it's time to finally retire the Broken Sword series.
