Description
After reluctantly battling dragons, Mayan gods, and becoming a Knight of a long lost Holy Order, unwitting hero George Stobbart settles down to a life of mundane 9-5 office work. Who would have thought that a mysterious and beautiful woman would enter his life; a woman whose sudden disappearance draws him into a desperate search for a nefarious artifact of great and terrible power?

Heralded as the greatest bastion of true adventure gaming, Broken Sword: The Angel of Death draws the player in to a dark world of conspiracy theories, daring adventures, and ancient societies. Excellent story with many references to the Bible greatly improve the already fantastic feeling of immersion and make the tale gripping and believable. So if you are an adventure genre fan this is a no-brainer.
  • Last installment of the legendary series now in 3D with high quality music and top notch voiceovers.
  • The atmosphere of mystery and danger will accompany you throughout the whole adventure.
  • Engrossing storyline and well written dialogue will keep you hooked for hours.

What a 3D adventure game should be like

This game was the first in the Broken Sword series that I played, and as many others I was skeptical about it, after trying to play other attempts to bring adventure genre to 3D (like Gabriel Knight 3 or King's Quest 8). However, Broken Sword 4 showed me just what a 3D adventure game should be like. It's perfect. The true spirit of a classic "point-and-click" brought organically into a realistic 3D world. It's very well designed, it's fun, it's atmospheric, and enjoyable all way through. The graphics are surprisingly good, dialogs and voice acting are superb (as usual), and puzzles are pleasantly logical. This game has a special place in my collection and in my heart, and I really hope Revolution makes more 3D games like this. I'm very happy it's finally available for on-line purchase. I might even buy it for the second time, admitting in practice what I always say about Revolution - their games are so good, you want to buy them twice :)

Good but not as good as BS3

Enjoyed it. Some good puzzles. Had some navigation problems: perhaps my computer! A relief when Nico turns up. Love the dialogue and the send up of institutions such as the church. The pice of salami in my inventory went rotten. Somehow the end fell a bit flat for me.

Great title, rushed ending.

This game is an excellent 3d adventure. The story is nice with some unexpected twists and never shallow. The puzzle are somewhat simple, mostly because the inventory is much smaller than the previous games; but I think I liked it since it helps focusing with the good story. The real flaw of this game is the rushed ending, it almost seems Revolution ended the time or the money to make it properly. I do not want to spoil it, but the final puzzle is very easy and the final cutscene is so fast it is already ended. No epilogue, no hint of how the characters will continue their lives. Only the credits...

Doesn't Stand up against its peers

So, I've played all of the Broken Sword games. Of all of them, I think this one lost its way, in story, humour, puzzles and controls. Of these, the controls are probably the most frustrating - especially when it comes time to solve the timed "puzzles". Best treated like the Matrix sequels - ie pretend it doesn't exist.

Good Game

Now, You've probably heard rhis allready, but: ''This is the Worst Game of the Broken Sword Series'''. Don't get me Wrong, it's a Pretty Good Game, but not as nearly Good as any of the orher Broken Sword Series. Now, We all Know that the First 3 Broken Sword's were known by ''Funny Dialogue''....well this Game Lacks in Humour compared to the Previous Games. Most of the Puzzles are Quite Good, but some ar just.....not. Many find the Story a bit forgetable.... But, it's still a Very Good Adventure, and I recomend it to any Broken Sword or Adventure Lover! :D
