This is a souls-like game, by which I mean it deliberately excludes the less dextrous. There are difficulty settings, but the lowest difficulty setting is not low enough to make the game playable unless you can dodge and parry and buttonmash effectively. The story looked as though it might be fun, but I will never know.
I have given it an extra star for having a female protagonist option, even though that is never acknowledged in the dialogue (at least at the start, I obviously can't tell you if that improves).
Game seems good, but playing these types of action adventure RPG's with a keyboard is terrible imo.
Only "Supports" Xbax Controller and has no way to remap the controls.
An absolutely terrible game from a terrible dev team/publisher.
Bad plot, worse acting, janky and generic gameplay, uninteresting quests. Everything about this is the gaming epitome of bland. While mods and patches help to some degree it simply cant escape that Spiders legacy as seen with games like Technomancer.
The graphics are perhaps the best part of this though they are firmly rooted in last gen PS3/X360 era with some enhancements. Outside of the voice acting the sound design is perhaps second.
Perhaps the biggest slight this game makes is its ridiculous difficulty jump at the end that almost made me give up and not finish it. Sadly even the ending was not adequate payoff for it.
I could say more bad things about it but honestly as a modern GOG gamer I appreciate EVERY modern 3d RPG we get in the sea of isometric RPGs we have. Plus the initial sale price of 4$ IS a valid price for the game. So definitely wait for it to go on sale. Ive paid for and played worse things, albeit not by much. 1.75 stars is most appropriate but cant justify giving it two.
YES I purchased this game, AND have been playing it. Three stars for originality and fighting mechanics. Other than that, in many spots it is too simplified, although the end is hard. Graphics are ok, but nothing to write home about. Music is decent enough. Still docking 2 stars for the language difficulty AND for GOG and Developer both launching a half-baked release without checking for something as simple and easy to spot as a language error at installation. Look, GOG- yes it is on sale, BUT you charge MONEY for it. People EXPECT to get value for their money, if you are selling it, something THAT obvious should have been fixed before offering it...and that when I was the FIRST to REVIEW and you couldn't see clear to SHOW the review tells me you are not the honest company I thought you were when I started purchasing games here. At almost 200 games I own, one would THINK customer satisfaction is IMPORTANT. I can understand now between DRM's, premature launches, programs requiring workarounds rather than being fixed, and hidden reviews, even with fair pricing I can see why people pirate your wares! Any more bad products, and I'm going back to "TRY BEFORE YOU BUY" myself!!! Maybe it "hurts" developers and middlemen, but so does bad business practices! Be fair and honest, reviews will be fair and honest. Screw up, and it is YOUR fault if reviews are not "friendly".
