Botanicula

I never would have expected a game in which words cease to exist outside the title screen, where garbled noises sampled from the strangest of items can represent the strongest of emotion. The way that the game throws you through tons of feelings and memories is incredibly well done. The artwork is perfect, the audio astounding and the gameplay both intriguing and fun. I don't think I have ever replayed a game so many times as this.

So creative and beautiful, I'm at a loss for words. Without dialogue, these games manage to have clear characters with clear goals. I was highly entertained, and I found the puzzles challenging yet logical. Recommend.

My sons (ages 5 and 6) and I just finished this game. The design is wonderful for children - lots to do and see, many funny little critters to click on, and puzzles that aren't too difficult (especially with a little help from the parent). The sound design is 2nd-to-none, and the soundtrack is wonderful. If you have little ones and are looking for a game that will allow the entire family to explore and discover together, this is the one. Highly, highly recommended.

An endearing point-and-click game with a story told completely (and wonderfully) through visuals. Sometimes the puzzles can be a little tricky and there were a few times where I got stuck and had to look up a walkthrough, but for the most part just exploring and examining things led me to the correct answers. The world is enjoyable to explore and is populated with a myriad of other creatures that add more depth and character to the world. I actually laughed out loud at multiple points when a new creature appeared or when an event in the game happened. I love this game and heartily recommend it to anyone who enjoys point-and-click adventure games, anyone who likes things that are different from main-stream, and anyone who likes exploring game worlds and finding all the hidden secrets.

If I had to describe Botanicula in one word, I would choose 'joyful'. This is a game which revels in simple pleasures, and encourages you to explore and play with the beautifully animated world around you. If you can allow yourself to be sucked into the child-like wonder of the world, you will fall in love. The music, by Dva, is superb!
