MOVE TO THE MUSIC
Drift along to the music of a gorgeous original score composed by Moisés Camargo, blending traditional Japanese instrumentation with modern orchestral music.
For context, I played this on Switch.
I loved the art style and the music. The initial comparisons to Hollow Knight drew me in, but the combat and platforming is much more vertical. The game definitely stands on its own. A nice, rewarding experience, even if you just stick to the main story.
For those who want more, the upgrade paths, extra spells, and tags add so much variety to an individual run.
This game is a real pleasure to play: it is a perfect hybrid of Hollow Knight, Okami with a sprinkle of Celeste. The combat is simple, yet engaging, with every instrument you find useful in both combat and exploring. Graphics are astounding, music not that much but still good. The map is small but does a good job with making you go around in circles. The bosses are fun, acting as both a platforming stage and an actual boss.
The only thing I did not like is the story, but it's a metroidvania, if the gameplay is fun who cares. I hope these guys will release more games.
4hrs in and I'm loving this game. Hand drawn art is beautiful and it gives me Nine Sols vibes. Plays more like Hollow Knight tho. Strong recommend if you like those games.
This game is one of the best metroidvania games I've played this year, honestly, I love the art style, the combat and of course the music, it's simply a masterpiece.
