Bloodstained®︎: Ritual of the Night is the FULL game experience, an exploration-focused, side-scroller action RPG packing all of the best features you've come to know and love from the Metroidvania genre into a single, content-packed game.
Play as Miriam, an orphan scarred by an alchemist’s curse which slowly crystallizes her body. In order to save herself, and indeed, all of humanity, she must battle her way through a demon-infested castle summoned by Gebel, her old friend whose body and mind has become more crystal than flesh.

I have played and replayed this game so many times, and every return just makes me love the game more.
For context, I have platinumed the game on PS, 100%'d the game on Switch, and now I'm replaying it on PC. The game moves fast and respects your time. The platforming and exploration is so well-thought out and I adore all of the details. My only criticisms are that boss design is relatively basic and there is exactly one area that requires killing a non-boss enemy (for their shard) to progress to a new area, but I look forward to the upcoming sequel to see if they've fixed those. Otherwise, the game is just a great time and just feels like the quintessential Igavania.
I'm not going to get deep into the details, there are already too many great reviews. Just gonna say that I loved Castlevania Symphony of the Night, as well as other games that came after like Harmony of Dissonance, Aria of Sorrow, etc. Those are my favorite Castlevania games, and if you liked those too, then you are going to LOVE Bloodstained RotN. It has all those things that make those games great, and even more.
Made by the same producer that made Castlevania Symphony of the NIght and Order of Ecclesia, this is a new mythos with a mixture mechanics of both in 2.5D environment.
Much like those two games, the hints are few, and the exploring can be punishingly hard if you are used to modern hints, so be advised.
Otherwise this runs great, has great sounds and colorful visuals.
Just be warned that it's an exploration heavy action/RPG, and the best items require completing quests and item hunting, so if that's not your cup of tea, try before buying.
