You can also get Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night - Miriam’s Complete Cosmetic Bundle here.

Bloodstained®︎: Ritual of the Night is the FULL game experience, an exploration-focused, side-scroller action RPG packing all of the best features you've come to know and love from the Metroidvania genre into a single, content-packed game.

Play as Miriam, an orphan scarred by an alchemist’s curse which slowly crystallizes her body. In order to save herself, and indeed, all of humanity, she must battle her way through a demon-infested castle summoned by Gebel, her old friend whose body and mind has become more crystal than flesh.

WHAT'S IN THE GAME?

13 FREE DLCs via future content updates. “Speed Demon” Update containing Speed Run Mode, Boss Rush Mode and the Pure Miriam outfit available at launch!

Addictingly tight and satisfying gameplay alongside a rich new story in the gothic dark fantasy style of Koji Igarashi, the celebrated godfather of "Igavania" games.

Story cut scenes and NPC interactions fully voice acted by a star-studded cast, including actors like David Hayter, Ray Chase and Erica Lindbeck to name just a few. (Seriously, we have a lot of voice acting star power in this game, it's kinda nuts...)

Three playable characters, two of which have yet to be revealed...

Literally a metric ton of weapons and spells, which you can upgrade, level up and visually customize.

Beautiful 2.5D graphics: 3D models crafted with a lot of love and care on a 2D game environment. That means lots of cool tricks that "regular" 2D can't do...

THE FUTURE

Expect a worryingly large amount of announcements and updates, everything from updating the look of this page to the game in general. It's going to be one wild ride.

One of the Best Metroidvanias

I have played and replayed this game so many times, and every return just makes me love the game more. For context, I have platinumed the game on PS, 100%'d the game on Switch, and now I'm replaying it on PC. The game moves fast and respects your time. The platforming and exploration is so well-thought out and I adore all of the details. My only criticisms are that boss design is relatively basic and there is exactly one area that requires killing a non-boss enemy (for their shard) to progress to a new area, but I look forward to the upcoming sequel to see if they've fixed those. Otherwise, the game is just a great time and just feels like the quintessential Igavania.

Castlevania SotN...with new "assets"...

...on the main character...on the first boss... All joking aside, this game is great. As soon as I fired it up for the first time, I could see and feel all of the elements from SotN, the Sorrow series, and all the other Castlevania games with this gameplay. It's a huge mashup of all of them and it just works. As a note, I currently own, or have owned, nearly every Castlevania game ever published in the US in its original format/console. This game fits wonderfully in that collection. Gameplay is pretty tight, down to how you can still swing and move backwards ala SotN. My only complaint is that sometimes when I try to jump and attack right after the jump, my attack doesn't go off and i just jump harmlessly into an enemy I was meaning to hit. It's something I can work around via timing, but it's just not quite as tight as previous games. Item/weapon crafting as well as the quests are nice additions that are fun. Grinding for mats and monsters is something that I don't have a problem with, especially when it gets me a shiny new toy (and some levels) to enhance how I kill stuff! Personally, I think the graphics looks fantastic. Nice effects, runs at 60fps at 1080p flawlessly on Epic settings on an i5 with a GTX 1060 Max-Q, textures and atmosphere both wonderful. For those complaining about some of the design choices (main character design), this type of game isn't supposed to look super-realistic; it's a Japan-developed fantasy RPG/platformer with a female protagonist. What were you expecting? Anyways, I'm only a few hours in, but I can tell that many, many more will be spent exploring, crafting, killing, etc. Highly recommend.

Worth the money

Pure essence of castlevania. Almost everything was satisfying to me. But its directing and conversation scene was mediocre.

Symphony of the Night, Part 2

When this game was anounced I was very excited. Symphony of the Night is my favorite Castlevania that has been copied mutiple times, but nothing has captured its charm. I did my best to avoid to reading about the game so I would have a very blind through and it was worth it. The voice actors in the game are a nice suprise! Bloodstained gets better and better as you go. If you think that mysterious ghostly sword would drop as familar, well your right. And does it level up so you can use it yourself? Yes! I want to add more than 5 stars, esecially after I found a lady demon that set me on fire with a guitar that was playing heavy metal.

Castlevania is back!

Yeah... I said Castlevania... Oh, it isn't? Are you sure? No! It cannot be! Wraaagh! So it's Bloodstained. Actually a game Kickstarted by the director and mastermind of Castlevania - Symphony of the Night and later Metroid style Castlevania games. Hence the term and genre Metroidvania. This game has nothing to do with Konami, IGA thought... Konami doesn't care about Castlevania? I'll make my own then! That's how Bloodstained born. After a successful Kickstarter campaing, several delays, hiring more and more developers. Have at you! It's a great game! It IS Castlevania. Combined with elements of Symphony of the Night, the Sorrow duology, Order of Ecclesia. It has all the goodness of those former Metroidvania games. But it's an even bigger project. Surprisingly nice 3D graphics! I really doubted it'll look this good especially seeing earlier builds. But the listened to criticism. That's how you do it! That how it should be! Yes, looking at you, some AAA game devs! Gameplay is just like the previous Metroidvania games. Big map, looking for stuffs to progress, fight against epic bosses, explore various areas, fight bunch of nicely designed and somewhat familiar enemies. It has different difficulty settings, boss rush, speed run mode, and there will be free DLCs in the future! It has the Sorrow' soul system, except called as Shards. Exactly the same thing! You can level up, get new gears. Familiars are here too! So many possibilies! Loot galore! There is crafting, shopping, all kind of fun! Sound effects are nice but the main character is yelling too much. Typical of these kind of games. Yelling "Take this", calling the special abilities' name all the time. Other than that, nice! Music is fantastic! Michiru Yamane and Ippo Yamada and a few more was involved! Controls are super fluid and intuitive. Bonus: has lots of JoJo references. There was another Kickstarter goal, a retro style game by Inti Creates, Curse of the Moon. Also fantastic and recommended!
