Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain

The game starts pretty cool, you get ambushed outside of a tavern by mysterious strangers. However, it immediately blows it by having a non-existant interface, and your character telegraphing his only attack so much you'd think he was trying to write a letter to his grandma.

As soon as I saw this game, I bought it right away--it's a rare find and as far as I know, you cannot legally obtain it anywhere else. I had years ago on the psx and again on the pc. However, this does not run well on modern pc's--I found a fix. 3 minutes after I started the game, I noticed a problem and this was persistent. whoever optimized this, did not do a good job. I tried several times to fix it; before asking for a refund. The problems are: The FMV's do not show up..the setting should be openGL, which by default, it is not. The next problem I had; was that the game was acting like my keyboard was a controller and the axis was stuck. third problem: was that the attack button, was pressed down and the animation would just loop. the fourth problem: you go into the settings for controls and the game seizes up. It's a huge patch, it's like 2 gigs; but it optimizes it for modern machines, if it asks for the CD: just copy the files in the package, to the game directory, delete the install launcher and it'll run just fine. Blood Omen has a wonderful story, well written and delivered dialogue that has a very poetic feel to it, and a fantastic cast of characters. It's a compelling story where very few people stand out as truly good or evil. On story alone, this game would be a 5 star classic. Unfortunately there are some gameplay issues that can make things frustrating. Hit detection can be very wonky at times; there is way too much menuing if you want to capitalise on the strengths of the various armours, weapons, spells, and items; It can be easy at times to miss 1 line of dialogue and totally lose track of where to go next. That being said, this is still a very enjoyable adventure and Nosgoth is a beautifully realised world to explore.

i boought for my laptop and on my legion but the game doesnt play after the intro screen
