Welcome to The Zombiest Adventures!
What would happen if a zombie apocalypse had occurred in 1650? The world now consists only of the settlements of the few surviving colonizers of America, band of marauders, the risen Aztec empire and wild hordes of the living dead.
Controlling a small group of survivors, you will have to do road robbery, hunting for gunpowder and constant search for food. As a bonus, you can also fly in an air balloon and shoot mobs of ghouls with a machine gun-musket.
Survival and moral choice — hunger is able to kill off the player and his group in a week. Continuous search for food will inevitably face the player before tough moral questions. When it’s about surviving, is there any place for good and evil?
Global threat and dynamic world — the zombie invasion isn’t static, it’s ongoing. If the player is not active enough, the world will see its end.
Insane world — eighteenth century met with zombies and spawned crazy factions: neo-Aztecs, ultra-Catholics, psycho circus actors and marauding gangs will decide who’s most raving mad of them all.
Open racism? I beg cwright27 to explain... No racism in this game. Various peoples/cultures are shown. They kill and mame. In a game. With Zombies.
Crying wolf on an issue as serious as racism doesn't help anyone...
I am buying the game just to help fight idiocy in the world.
Bought the addon as an answer to user cwright22, who obviously support nonsensical historical revisionism for the sake of PC, which is shortsighted.
You fight intolerance with culture, not with ignorance, and revisionism is spreading ignorance.
This game isn't quite like the usual mount and blade style. Keep in mind I only played on the default difficulty, perhaps it would be more interesting... Or just impossible, on higher difficulties.
For me, I figured out this game consisted of 3 main strategic points:
1. Backpedaling, your main enemy is zombies, and you can solo defeat ANY horde by simply walking backwards and slashing appropriately (don't get hit, sometimes it hurts a lot and sometimes 1 damage matters when it's 1v60.). You can also jump on objects and use a polearm to stab from a safe distance.
2. Don't attack Natives or Marauders. You never get an army, you never get ammunition (not that I found, anyway! Once I got a hand cannon I just abused the 1-shot bug to essentially have unlimited cannon shots... one per battle, which can be very effective) and it is not worth it to fight them.
3. Raid plantations for supplies. You won't be able to buy much food, especially early on because you have no money. This was very frustrating, until I discovered that I could raid plantations very easily to get mountains of food and more items than the shops could afford to buy off me.
You get to fly in the balloon TWICE, one right after the other. There is ONE boat "level" where you fight a boarding party for a quest, no other boats in the game. If you even remotely stay on task, the game is over very quickly and it just feels unfulfilling at the end. You never get any territory or army, you get a handful of companions (I found 6?) and they are USELESS. They just get gravely wounded by zombies, and then you don't even get to benefit from their skill buffs.
I never found the machine-gun musket, but I wouldn't have any ammo anyway. I never found any ammo, and the ammo doesn't restock. After my first bag of arrows I spent the rest of the game as melee.
I had a fun time, but I think you could get significantly more out of many of the free mods out there.
I cannot recommend this unless there is a big discount on it.
The game is fine and there`s nothing wrong with it or its historical content. Close minded, overly sensitive, Ignorance is Bliss, SJW/PC garbage critics like CWright need to base their reviews on game play, and not what they imagine there to be in the game based on their biased views. The game is fine if you like games along the lines of Mount and Blade: Warband; I`m a huge fan of said game and have been playing it for years on and off. As long as you go into the game knowing you`re not getting the latest technology when it comes to graphics or do anything along the likes of Morrowind you`ll be fine.
