Blood: Fresh Supply

Never got to play this back in the day, I tried a few years back but the difficulty of the first level made me quit . However, I tried again and I'm glad I stuck with it, there are some great quality of life changes with this version that makes it feel like an entirely new game, of course is still challenging, but much more manageable. I completed the first four episodes almost without a hinch, except for this mision in episode 3 where you fight the giant spider on the sewers, after entering that room my fps went from 60 to 5 and kept there for the rest of that mission, and in teh fith episode the performance is bad, I get micro fps drops that are so annoying that I got a headache Overall is not perfect, but is still worth a shot, just remember: F2 (quicksave) is your best friend

For anyone new to the genre of retro shooters, Doom-likes, Quake-likes and build engine games, this is a pretty great starting point as the controls, graphics and techincal polish is on par with a modern shooter. This is my first GOG review and thats for a few reasons but the biggest is because this game, after its many many patches, is one of the greatest call backs to the 90s shooters ever. Dont be scared off by people being nostaligic or the graphics, this deserves a play as much as the newest shootrers on the market do.

Played this a bit at the turn of the century but I was much too young to fully appreciate it or finish it. This is the best parts of Doom and the best parts of Duke 3D. The difficulty is a bit jarring at first but once you get acquianted with the mechanics, things start making sense. The game is bursting with fantastical and creative ideas, be it the weapons, the levels or the enemies. The shooting feels as good as any of the Dooms or Quake. A joy to play.
