Blood: Fresh Supply

Blood is one of the most recognizable and classic boomer shooters amongst fans of the genre, along with the other Build Engine greats, Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior. Once again, Nightdive Studios shows their game remastering chops and the versatility of the Kex Engine in this updated version. A must for any self-respecting boomer shooter....er.

One of the best retro games I ever played.

This is definitely a classic title and for its original time, it must have been groundbreaking. But its not exactly my cup of tea. I prefer more the doom style of gameplay in case of boomer shooters (heavy metal ost and more fast paced) :)

I can see how this was scary back when it came out

What can I say, it's an excellent game. The atmosphere, the weapons, ennemies and level design are excellent. Fresh Supply is a good port. The only downside I see is that they didn't increase the sprite and wall count limits, so the newer user made maps which go beyond these limits are not compatible, but you can always install a source port to use with the original game files which come with Fresh Supply, if you want. The only other problem I had up to now is a bug crashing the game in the sample maps of the level editor. If this bug doesn't happen in the game's maps, then it's not really an issue. Didn't have it happen for now (played 2 episodes).
