Really nice FPS för single player, I remeber playing this for hours and hours when it was first released back in 1998. If one likes the Doom series, Duke Nuke'em and Postal you won't be disappointed with this game. A classic.
This game has very little redeeming factors to it. There are parts in the game where cheating is nessacary unless you find dying over and over and over due to cheap mechanics fun. The weapons are all right but feel useless against some enemies, for instance it take 3-5 napalm shots to kill one shikari. The enemies are ok but in the later levels the game just chucks them at you for little reason. The enemies have aimbot accuracy meaning they rarely miss a shot.
Since I am a huge fan of Blood, i found that I wanted to try Blood 2. By itself the game is not that great, but cheating and blowing through waves of enemies is pretty fun if not a bit dissapointing. If you are a huge Blood fan, buy the game but don't get dissapointed.
It might be flawed but I would play it over Painkiller or Serious Sam any day of the week. Extra Krispy mod and Sweetfx settings changes the look and feel of the game and makes it 4 times better. I find it better than Painkiller and Serious Sam and if you do it correctly you can replace the original game of the Chosen enemies with the classic cultist we all know and love from the Nightmare expansion pak. Doom is a Sci-fi santanic action pak horror and Blood is a past, present, future satanic action pak horror in more familiar environments and great dark music of a Horror electronic rock. Every title by monolith I have played has been an experience worth reliving. Shogo, Blood, Blood II, No one lives forever, Tron 2.0, F.E.A.R, Condemned, etc. Blood II may have been a disappointment when it came out. But over the years compared to modern games that release broken. Blood II is a breath of fresh air and with the mods and sweetfx makes the game far more enjoyable. I'd have to say Blood is a 10/10 for me and Blood II has become a 9/10 for me. It may not be as good as the original but for me isn't a big leap in which one I prefer more. The Mods the SweetFx and the ability to have the Cultists in the Original game really makes it worth playing and seeing the Lithtech engine do a perfect job in displaying potential in making a Blood atmosphere.
I see Shadowman when I see Blood but better looking. I love both games and just love being around old school graphics. It be nice to see a new Blood because over the years games like Doom and the new Shadowarrior and more have buckets of blood. But Blood is Blood its game is in the title you wanna e swimming in flesh and blood. Seeing a new Blood would just be a Beautiful Bloody mess and bring out the insanity of us all. I respect Monolith and it's titles so I respect Blood.
It's such a bad version that if I have it installed not just this game doesn't start but others won't either (eg MM7). The moment I uninstall Blood 2 MM7 launches...
