Description
The second scripture in the Blasphemous series portends the return of The Penitent One, with a story that continues from the free Wounds of Eventide DLC for the original game, where The Heart in the sky heralded the return of The Miracle and foretold the birth of a new miracle child.
Awakened in a strange new land, and displaced from his final resting place, The Penitent One is thrust back into the endless cycle of life, death, and resurrection, with no other option than to explore this perilous new world and uncover its long-forgotten secrets.
Hordes of grotesque enemies stand in your way, awaiting final judgement by the brutal hand of the Penitent One, with titanic twisted bosses also lurking in the darkness, waiting for their chance to return you to the grave from whence you came.

Good metroidvania style game
Great storyline, right level of challenge, the only gripe I have is occasional controller jankiness! I'd place this above Hollow Knight, but not quite as good as the Ori series!

4.5 It is a good game. Challening.
It's a good game, but there are some minor issues with pacing. I miss the deep, pious darkness of the First game. This Blasphemous is more action-oriented, but it's still a good title. Some things to improve: 1) I wish there were more icons to add to the map. 2) It would be great if an image of the location appeared for each Prie Dieu. I would like to have a reference image of the location so I do not have to guess if that was the place I was looking for. 3) Options to change the Penitent's clothes or equipment visuals during gameplay. Perhaps we could see how he changes with new armor, something similar, or special items, changes in color or shape, but I understand it is a 2D game, so there might be limits.
