Blade Runner

From a time when "retro" game art wasn't an aesthetic choice, but a technical limitation to be overcome. Just like its namesake movie, this game was cutting edge for its day and, also like the movie, the game is just as enjoyable now as it was then. I still own the DVDs, but it's awesome to be able to install this without pulling dusty boxes out of the attic.

If Blade Runner the movie is considered to one of the best sci-fi movies of all time, the same can be said about the Blade Runner the game. In many ways, it is one of the best adventure games ever made, not only capturing the atmosphere of rain-soaked LA but also expanding upon it. Unlike many other games in this genre, Blade Runner also is a title that doesn't suffer on multiple playthroughs, as some elements, mainly who is and is not a replicant, are randomized. It also has several different endings depending on how you fare in the game. Do yourself a favour, and buy this. Even if you aren't a fan of the gene, buy this. And thank me later.

It is one of those games that deserve both your money and time. It is a game which gives you a real Blade Runner/Cyberpunk Noir feel. Nice, atmospheric graphics (if you take into account the passing time, of course) and gameplay/story which immediately brings you back into the world of Blade Runner. The price tag is resonable even for a game this old. You hare to respect GOG for bringing it back - it was near impossible. I played this game a long time ago and was hoping I could repeat the experience one day. There were no options for me to do so. Then they released it here! I recommend you buy it too. Thank me later.

... that I'm reluctant to play again, by fear of spoiling the memories of it. All those years later, I still can recall the feelings and the images of this game as fresh as if I finished it yesterday.

I still own my complete copy in the box with the strategy guide and it stands the test of time. When I first seen the graphics, back in 1999, I was completely blown away; was totally engrossed with the characters and story, the multiple endings kept me coming back for replayability, and the atmosphere is perfect and feels like you're in the movie.
