Strarts out OK, but...

because controlling your troops in very difficult, and even in the first campaign they get absolutely hammered by big enemy monsters, I gave up. I see the potential, but for me, it just gets too frustrating. Also - the enemy attacks as soon as the map starts, so I don't have time to order my troops into a defensive position, before they get ambushed, so the heroes may killed with one attack from the enemy as I can't move them out of harm's way fast enough. As someone above mentions, there are no cut-scenes. I can't save during battle, only on the map.

Amazing soundtrack

Always buy when it's on promotion! With -80% it costs the same as 1 song on services selling music but instead of 1 song you get an amazing 15 track soundtrack!

Incredible game!

So, i played this game when i was a kid, and it blew my mind, i'm a fan of both rpg, fps, strategy and 4x games, this game has it all, and pretty advanced mechanics for its time, love the game world too, more than enough fun in this game to make me forget/not care about its lack of polish, it truly immerses you in a different world if you let the story and ambiance catch you. It is screaming for an HD rework, keeping the original comic-book like graphics, not a 3d makeover like Cossacks 3. This game is a work of art.

THERE ARE NO PATHFINDING ISSUES

TO EVERYONE COMPLAINING ABOUT PATHFINDING: there are two modes of ordering your units: attack and movement, changed by pressing 'spacebar'. There is also an active pause. You also can't order your units to attack individual enemies, just whole regiments (unless it's a hero-type unit, like lich or a giant, that is). That's why positioning is the most important and you always get slight delay until enemy begins to act at the start of battle. This game is more tactical than ordinary RTS. For me it's a nostalgia gem with one of the best soundtracks of all time - and you get with the game in .mp3 format. Worth the price just for the music.
