Why indie platformers have a bad name
So, you know Audiosurf, right? Okay, now imagine if Audiosurf was made in fugly 70's Atari graphics, instead of you own music (or any decent music in fact) it would only play annoying ear-wrecking 8-bit beats - with which it would still be out of sync, and WOULD RETURN YOU TO THE BEGINNING OF THE LEVEL AT THE SLIGHTEST MISTAKE, completely ruining any remaining chance for immersion. I'm sure this kind of stuff has its fans (probably people who need to get rid of extra controllers), but it's also an example why I get sick as soon as I see 'indie platformer' in any game's description.
