One of the best adventures ever

Once upon a time adventure games popped out of the ground. Everybody loved them and they were absolutely wonderful. Beneath a Steel Sky is one of the best games in this genre, and maybe one of the best games ever. Even though the premise and the setting are really serious (Dark future, faceless corporations etc.) the game serves A LOT of really funny characters and dialogues. One of the best scenes is the Courtroom scene, absolutely hilarious. And Joey, the main character's robotic friend, is a great character. Always despising humans, because of his robotic nature, pulling off sarcastic retorts anytime, he'll make you laugh for sure. Bottom line: great story, fantastic characters, great setting, and it's free. WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT?

Brilliant game

It's been a while since I played it, but I remember the great humour and gameplay, especially parts where you had about half a second to find and click whatever you had to before you were killed in some gruesome way.

I just keep coming back

This is truly one of the classic adventure games. I can't remember where I first saw the demo for this, but it immediately prompted me to buy the game (and this was back in the era when it came on floppy disks). Then I bought it again when it was re-released on CD. And I've played it several more times now through ScummVM. I have no doubt that I'll enjoy the GOG release as well. The game is rife with dark humour (and an insulting sidekick). All of the characters in the game have their own little quirks, and the dialogue is brilliant. And while some of the events leading up to the finale are fairly predictable, the game throws enough curveballs into the works to keep things interesting. And since it's available for free, there's simply no excuse not to download and play it. What are you waiting for?

Enjoyable

This game was a fun game to play. It's a "point and click" game with an interesting story. I didn't encounter any serious bugs. There were a handful of puzzles that stumped me, but it was nothing a look at gamefaqs.com couldn't fix. It would usually be because I failed to notice something in the room. I don't guess I play these types of games enough to be observant as I should be. Since this game is free, I say download it and give it a try. I enjoyed playing it.
