Being a DIK: Season 1 & 2 + Acting Lessons Bundle

I have no prior experience with adult games, and would not have bought this if it weren't for the reviews making me think there may be more to this one. I'm glad to proclaim that they were right. I expected this game would have an ok story and characters with some medium level of depth, but really meant as sex objects, and that it would be pointless fun meant for playing one-handed. Even if it's the best adult game ever made, what more could I expect out of the much lampooned adult games genre? What I got was a visual novel that seemed at first like a modern version of a campy 90's teen drama, but quickly began showing that while it had humor (lots of humor, and most of it great), it also had deep and meaningful characters with stories each their own, and yet all tied together. This game can hit you emotionally if you let it. Some of the "scenes" feel campy, yes, but many of them feel quite meaningful. The story covers some very adult themes outside of sex, and can be considered a bit dark at times. At other times it's lightheared and funny. It has an excellent soundtrack that occasionally becomes repetitive, but mostly hits the right notes at the right times, and gives the game a lot of life. Gameplay is very simple; read dialogue and choose responses. Play some mini games and do some minor scavenger hunts (neither of which are required). The mini games are mostly pretty decent, and the scavenger hunts are just to collect extras. I don't love either of those in my games, but they were bearable here and I didn't feel like I was really missing out on anything important when I failed on any of them. So, this was my long way of saying that this isn't a sex game in visual novel form, this is a great story in a visual novel that also includes sex. I can't wait for Season 3!

These games are created by Dr. Pink Cake. Acting lessons was his first foray. Being a DIK is his ongoing masterpeice. The appreance of Adult themed visual novels is something relatively new to the US market. In my opinion this games bundle offers the best. The game is a visual novel, harken to the old adventure games with hot chicks and sexual scenes thrown in. There are also mini games from dating apps, fighting, and rebuilding your thrashed fraternity homestead. As you get to know the girls you have relations with, you will fall in love with some of them because of the well fleshed out models and story back grounds. The programmer, Dr. Pink Cake also has a Pateron page you can visit to find out more of the game. He is also currently develoing season 3, on which episode 9 was recently completed.

The rating from folks that haven't even played the game, are basically a protest vs GOG, not the game itself. Verified Owners rating of 4.9 of 5 tells the story. Being a Dik is extremely enjoyable, well written, great character development bar none, replayable, meaningful, terrific, and the story is still evolving, interesting stuff. Acting Lessons is also pretty good. It is the AVN that most often is referenced as setting the bar that all other AVNs are compared to for a reason. And it Season 3 is in active development with the Interlude and Episode 1 already completed. As I read on another's post, even if you took the graphic/adult part out of the game, it would still be good. I'm as straight as it gets, but one of my favorite characters is a dude, Derick. He is so funny, The girls are all different and not cookie cutter. It's all a good time. I just wished Sally had a bigger part. *sigh* (fyi, Sally is a side character that I like)

Both are just great VN with a great history, if you like read and see the adult content here, you gonna enjoy this games. Highly recomendes. :D
