From original BATTLETECH/MechWarrior creator Jordan Weisman and the developers of the award-winning Shadowrun Returns series comes the next-generation of turn-based tactical 'Mech combat.
The year is 3025 and the galaxy is trapped in a cycle of perpetual war, fought by noble houses with enormous, mechanized combat vehicles called BattleMechs. Take command of your own mercenary outfit of 'Mechs and the MechWarriors that pilot them, struggling to stay afloat as you find yourself drawn into a brutal interstellar civil war. Upgrade your starfaring base of operations, negotiate mercenary contracts with feudal lords, repair and maintain your stable of aging BattleMechs, and execute devastating combat tactics to defeat your enemies on the battlefield.
COMMAND A SQUAD OF 'MECHS IN TURN-BASED COMBAT: Deploy over 30 BattleMechs in a wide variety of combinations. Use terrain, positioning, weapon selection and special abilities to outmaneuver and outplay your opponents.
MANAGE YOUR MERCENARY COMPANY: Recruit, customize, and develop unique MechWarriors. Improve and customize your dropship. As a Mercenary, travel a wide stretch of space, taking missions and managing your reputation with a variety of noble houses and local factions.
TAKE PART IN A DESPERATE CIVIL WAR: Immerse yourself in the story of a violently deposed ruler, waging a brutal war to take back her throne with the support of your ragtag mercenary company.
CUSTOMIZE YOUR 'MECHS: Use your MechLab to maintain and upgrade your units, replacing damaged weapon systems with battlefield salvage taken from fallen foes.
PVP MULTIPLAYER & SKIRMISH MODE: Customize a Lance of 'Mechs and MechWarriors to go head-to-head with your friends, compete against opponents online, or jump into single-player skirmish mode to test your strategies against the AI.
Please Note: BATTLETECH uses Paradox Accounts. You don't need an account to play the campaign or single-player skirmish modes. However, you do need a Paradox Account to challenge other players in 1v1 multiplayer matches and to redeem unlock codes for Kickstarter Backer or Pre-Order DLC.
Recommended system requirements:
Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
Please be advised that the game works through Rosetta 2 and may not function properly on macOS with M1 chips.

In short, I like this game a lot. It's very refreshing, a game asking you your pronouns. It looks and sounds and plays great. Very addicting.
However, the difficulty could be better balanced. At the end of the day, you'll only ever have four mech warriors - and that just isn't fair. There should be the option to have reinforcements, to upgrade your drop ship or whatever so you can deploy more mechs.
Most opposing forces will always outnumber you, and they're almost always stronger. The vehicles and turrets and etc etc are almost always ridiculously powerful.
This wouldn't all be so bad if you could just have more mechs out there on the field.
Basically, in a nutshell this is X-Com but with Mechs. But everybody should know this by now.
So naturally you would expect some solid turn based tactical gameplay with some mech customisation options, but what I wasn't expecting was great characters, great story, great freedom and flexibility for rewards in missions, and a generally great management sim. Running your own mercernary company is a hoot, having dialogue options gives your character more depth, options that appear based on other criteria even more so.
The only real issue at this point is the graphics are a bit meh (but that's really nitpicky) and some of the interface designs are a bit frustration - however they have said they're working on fixing that.
I'm nearly 40 hours into since release, no sign of easing up, I just love this game so much.
Got the game and played through twice on the campaign. Bought the expansion and its been one crash after another. Try playing career mode and get 15 turns into a mission and getting that head shot that turns the tide of the battle in your favor and CRASH!!!!! Sent in my direct x log to support and was told"yeah we know there's a problem reduce your resolution maybe that will help." It didnt. Now in order to play career mode i have to exit and reload the game roughly every 5 turns and pray i dont get wrapped up in the battle and forget save. This game never crashed before the expansion. So the few positives. The modeling of the mechs is great. The mechanics are pretty good. 40 to 60 percent damage reduction for standing in trees? Also 3 waves of mechs (thats 9-12 mechs of equal tonnage against my 4) ok.... If you get lucky and this game runs without crashing, it is fun and enjoyable. Just dont expect any kind of support from gog or the developer. I tried all the possible fixes i found in the forums including on steam and no luck. cheers!
An outstanding game, despite the flaws. Harebrained Schemes pulled off a Hail Mary with this game and reinvigorated the Battletech and Mechwarrior faithful.
