Batman: The Enemy Within - The Telltale Series

Your choice doesn't matter, despite the message when the game start, unforgivable for this kind of game. Very sad become sad become i was thinking TTG changed and was going to let me "build" the story. You be better reading a visual novel.

Okay, so the game engine hasn't changed since 'The Walking Dead' way-back-when, and certain decisions are meaningless, but it's still an interactive comic book. You get to decide how relationships develop and change the 'flavour' of the story, even if, ultimately, the story stays the same. I liken it to cooking a curry. You can add more spice, more veggies, more cream or ghee to taste, but in the end, you always have a curry. Personally, when I'm in the mood, these telltale games scratch a casual interative-movie itch that others can't reach.

I love and hate this game at the same time. It played like walking with sticky chewing gum under your feet. So while playing Ep2, I stopped and didn't touch it for more than two years. Recently I continued playing. First it was just as bad as I remembered, but at some point the storytelling became a LOT better. And when I finally arrived at EP5 ... well, it was worth it. Depending on how you treat John, EP5 has two completely different story lines and I might even play a good part of the game again to see the second storyline. Still ... this game has no "right" choices. No matter what you do, you always get something negative out of it. I have no idea what they were thinking by not ever rewarding the player (except for the second storyline in EP5). The evaluations of each episode are completely pointless. Comparing with the community? What for? And at the end of the game you get some text boxes telling you what char did what as a consequence of your choices. I would have prefered to see a cutscene more instead of text. **slight spoiler** And I was a bit disappointed by Alfreds ultimatum. That's SO out of character. In every version of Batman I ever read, he was always supportive. He would encourage Bruce to certain ways of behaviour, but never ever force him.

Great game to play and fun as the story developes.

A better story, really good characters, and lots of decisions, the same problems that the first one have are still here, and also the problems that every telltale games product have, at the end your decisions doesn’t chance almost anything, but they do chance batman personality and relations with others, this is a really good game that worth a try.
