One of the best games ever made

Batman Arkham City is one of the best video games I have ever played. It perfectly picks off where the previous game left off and improves it across the board: The great things are made even better and the not so great aspects are brought up to speed to be excellent. The soundtrack is fantastic and fits perfectly, the story and voice acting are top notch, the graphics are beautiful, the gameplay is an improvement in every way compared to the first game, bigger, better more varied and there is an unparalleled feeling of truly being Batman. The only real downside I can think of is that the game has some very nice graphical particle effects that are based on Nvidia PhysX technolgy. In case you have an AMD graphics card you NEED to disable them to get playable framerates - which is a shame because the additional effects are very, very nice indeed. I highly recommend this game! It truly is a masterpiece.

Good but not as groundbreaking as Asylum

Arkham City is basically Arkham Asylum with more open world stuff and a much less believable story. The problem is, while it once again nails the atmosphere, all these very forgettable side missions and collectibles do very little for the game. Hardcore comic fans might rejoice whenever some obscure 3rd row villain makes his appearance, the average gamer, however, will probably wonder why the hell he should care. On the gameplay side Batman has even more Gadgets now but half of them are just slightly different means to pull a switch and therefore feel somewhat redundant. It is also nice that you can play Catwoman now but she is criminally underutilized in the main story and essentially plays like Batman without equipment. A little disappointing, sadly. That being said, if you enjoyed Asylum you will very likely enjoy City as well. After all the Arkham-Series still offers the best Batman Experience in the realm of video games up to this day.

Batman Arkham Worth The Time

Many times I have played the Arkham games. Arkham City is likely worth you money too. GOG's work fot this game is amazing! The DRM removal is enough for me. Thanks GOG.

The best licensed video game ever made.

Batman Arkham City is a fully realized Batman simulator. If you ever pretended to be Batman as a kid, this is the game for you. As one of the most refined sequels of all time, I can offer virtually no meaningul constructive critcism. It is narrative and content rich, an artistic spectacle and physically satisfying to master. This is a classic, everyone who is an enthusiast of video games should own it.
