The Banner Saga 2 doesn't change much of the experience that made the original such a well-loved surprise two years ago, and that's a good thing. The improvements may be small, but they're also substantial: the new combat units, the introduction of a second caravan story to follow, and the obstacles in the battlefield add up nicely. While beautifully written and populated with memorable characters and twists, the story does slightly suffer from a case of the "middle episodes" that may leave you eager for more. On the bright side, we know that more is on the way in a third and final installment.

Great game, very week end fight

An otherwise pretty good game - not that it's the best tactical strategy game around - the boring and tedious end-fight kill all the joy you ever got out of the previous hours of gaming. It's unrewarding and takes too long, needing you to play totally defensive while kiting your one enemy. And retrying the fight is even more gruesome, forcing you to watch the drawn-out story sequence over and over again. That really is the worst part about that: that this is not skippable... It's a shame, really. I can only hope part 3 does not include such a miserable "mission".

Things go even better!

You liked the first ? You'll too like this one! First, storyline is even better than in first episode.. People work together to survive, but still maintain their own objectives. It's difficult to assign on each personality a tag because their reasons don't ever seem totally wrong even if may appear to be very cruel or bad. It seems to me like a book you can write with your hands. Where last words come unexpected, for me. Combat has not changed a lot. More classes and focuses added a lot of variety even in characters that have same class. I'm not really good and in some occasions had to change difficulty setting, but.. it the general feeling was quite the same. In one word? Glorious

Bannerer Saga

Slightly better than The Banner Saga 1 in almost every aspect and the original was already a great game. The only thing was a bit disappointing is the ending: it is even more of a cliffhanger this time.

Great sequel in the Banner Saga series

Banner Saga 2 continues from the end of Banner Saga 1 (including option to use old saves). It introduces new characters to the caravan, particularly the Ravens, with new interesting dynamics. You get the explore the rest of the map with new encounters and choices, including encountering the Horseborn (centaur like creatures). The onslaught of the Dredge continues. Choices over Banner 1 and 2 do have a meaningful impact on the story, particularly at the end. Banner Saga 2 has new dynamics and characters to keep it interesting, alongside a wellwritten story.

great game

excellent follow up to an already great game. makes nice improvements while staying with the formula. I got a lot of enjoyment out of it and it has nice replayability.
