The 1st impression - the max. difficulty

I started the game at the "Grandmaster" dificulty (because I am real Grandmaster). Crafting and questing was not a problem, although i have to use more than the grandfather field to have enough food. When i saw the wooden toilet, i was looking forward to make my own poop to fertilize my land, but unfortunately it gave me just a black screen :(. When I saw a Wisp (without trying to find out HP of the Wisp) I told to to myself: "This is just some fen-fire, I should be able to kill it at level one even with Grandmaster difficulty." And I fireballed it. What a surprice! I have just litte bit more than 1000 HP, while Wisp had more than 4000!:( And arcane immunity! (Which seemed logical.) I was like: "Oh no, I am dead!:(". But then I remembered the TAMING TRAP, so I put it before me and when Wisp got close, it get trapped!:) I was playing mage and alchemist (what a combination!:)) and suvivor, so I was sure, that i will be not able to tame the Wisp (I have no hunting skill). But I survived the fight with so strong opponent :). I will try to find information about taming and try to tame the Wisp - welcome my new pet, lol. I was little dissapointed, when I planted my two two magical seeds, they grow in magical chests (the watering and ferilizing helped it:)), so I was looking forward to two walking magical chests (read books from terry Pratchet), but I get just a scroll for forget a crime and a little pig. I would also like to have availabe the ATTACK TARGET order for my pet. I have the Phoenix ring, so I can risk my pet as much as I want, lol. My future strategy will be to let the pet stay in approximated way of the target, the fireballed it from distance and then give "HELP ME" order to my pet.

Another RPG with a mediocre system

The game has a lot of pontential, but the all game is, again, generally let down by the game system. Yes. The rules that form the game are a big disappointment. You start with 800 hit points (again no wound system...), but the first critter at 20 meters from your hut can deal 400 hit points, killing you in 2 hits. How the character managed to survive to reach 20 years old? Again, another RPG with the same AD&D Mage vs Cat syndrome. I couldn't bother playing the game longer. You can manage to cut a whole tree down, and bring a whole mess of wood, but the insect lurking in the first bush, is deadly. Rubbish.

Very close, but still not it

I search for a RPG which is suitable for a highly sensitive player like me for a long time – beside the one MMORPG I play regularily. This game came close, quite close. An open world, lots of freedom to play how I want to, a safe place, building a house, gardening, farming, making potions and all kinds of other crafting… only thing I disliked at the beginning was the visualization of blood, but I bore with it. It was not too explicit for me in the beginning, even tough for some reason it does not go away after a while, even after several in game days passed. I think thats unrealistic. Also I was able to escape fights I did not want to fight and the game gives lots of XP for solving quests, way more than for killing. I also like how the game unfolded the story bit by bit. I thought this was very nicely made. So a lot of good points. But I also wanted to play through the story. And there it became more and more difficult to play the intelligent, ethically acting mage, I wanted to play. For example there was a quest with a very dramatic and dire story with lots of cruelty and the game did not give me the option to act in the way I wanted to to resolve it. And thus I had my char flee from it and it remained unsolved, which was the best I came up with. And even tough its an isometric view, and somewhat pixelized in high resolution, depictions were quite explicit. Blood running down my chars arms on being hit or a cut off body (in the very same quest). Also my char as a mage was highly underpowered even in level 3 or 4, with just about 1380 hp, even a spider still easily enough able to kill him, even with tons of armor on. It became more and more difficult to intelligently avoid the fights I did not want my char to engage with and so it became more and more frustrating for me. Like killing creatures of nature, like spiders, that just leave my char alone if my chars leaves them alone. For me it became more and more fighting my way against the game content, than me enjoying the game, even in chapter one already so I quit playing it – spending the time in my holidays in a more recreational way. I even slept badly last night, thinking about elements of the story that has some elements of a horror story, if you ask me. So… pretty close, but still not it – for me with my somewhat special requirements for an RPG I like to play. Some drama, some… conflict… yes, but for me personally this was too much.
