Gather your party, and return to the Forgotten Realms in a tale of fellowship and betrayal, sacrifice and survival, and the lure of absolute power.
Mysterious abilities are awakening inside you, drawn from a Mind Flayer parasite planted in your brain. Resist, and turn darkness against itself. Or embrace corruption, and become ultimate evil.
From the creators of Divinity: Original Sin 2 comes a next-generation RPG, set in the world of Dungeons and Dragons.
Choose from a wide selection of D&D races and classes, or play as an origin character with a hand-crafted background. Adventure, loot, battle and romance as you journey through the Forgotten Realms and beyond. Play alone, and select your companions carefully, or as a party of up to four in multiplayer.
Abducted, infected, lost. You are turning into a monster, but as the corruption inside you grows, so does your power. That power may help you to survive, but there will be a price to pay, and more than any ability, the bonds of trust that you build within your party could be your greatest strength. Caught in a conflict between devils, deities, and sinister otherworldly forces, you will determine the fate of the Forgotten Realms together.
Forged with the new Divinity 4.0 engine, Baldur’s Gate 3 gives you unprecedented freedom to explore, experiment, and interact with a world that reacts to your choices. A grand, cinematic narrative brings you closer to your characters than ever before, as you venture through our biggest world yet.
The Forgotten Realms are a vast, detailed and diverse world, and there are secrets to be discovered all around you -- verticality is a vital part of exploration. Sneak, dip, shove, climb, and jump as you journey from the depths of the Underdark to the glittering rooftops of the Upper City. How you survive, and the mark you leave on the world, is up to you.
allows you to combine your forces in combat, and split your party to follow your own quests and agendas. Concoct the perfect plan together… or introduce an element of chaos when your friends least expect it.
offer a hand-crafted experience, each with their own unique traits, agenda, and outlook on the world. Their stories intersect with the entire narrative, and your choices will determine whether those stories end in redemption, salvation, domination, or many other outcomes.
based on the D&D 5e ruleset. Team-based initiative, advantage & disadvantage, and roll modifiers join combat cameras, expanded environmental interactions, and a new fluidity in combat that rewards strategy and foresight.
through your choices, and the roll of the dice. No matter who you play, or what you roll, the world and its inhabitants will react to your story.
allows you to pause the world around you at any time even outside of combat. Whether you see an opportunity for a tactical advantage before combat begins, want to pull off a heist with pin-point precision, or need to escape a fiendish trap. Split your party, prepare ambushes, sneak in the darkness -- create your own luck!
gog should ban the grognards who give a game 1 star (which, come on now, is for games that wont even start) and then try to hide the fact that it's because they're just scared of gay people existing.
And for all of you weirdos talking about its not a BG game, it doesn't have RTWP, I don't even know where to start. it's been 20 years, move on. No one cares about your "back in my day!" bs, there's plenty of games that carry the old Infinity Engine torch and you still complain about those anyway.
what IS here is an absolute blast; a wildly customizable RPG, goofy, serious, and everything in between honest to god DnD on pc game. what's already here is great, and once the modding scene picks up it could be as close to perfect as we might ever see a DnD game be in our lifetimes
I agree that $60 is a lot compared to the multitude of less expensive, quality games on GOG. But, it's standard fare for top-tier games nowadays and, c'mon, this is Baldur's Gate III. Not only has BG got a great legacy, but it's now produced by Larian, and we all know how amazing Divinity: Original Sin II is. This game is going to be fantastic!
Now, if they were charging $60 for the Beta only and we had to pay again for the game, that would suck. But, the way I see it, we're paying the $60 we would pay anyway for an amazing game and they're being cool and giving us our new toy to play with early. Plus, by letting us play early, we can help find bugs, gameplay issues, etc. to help them polish the game, which gives us a better experience in the long run.
Seems like a win-win to me.
(And to the guy that got a black screen with no sound... sorry to hear it didn't work for you, man. Yes, there are some issues to work out... it's a beta. That's where trust and patience comes in. They're going to work out the kinks. It's no reason to have a knee-jerk reaction and give a great game a 0 star review.)
I've bought this game yesterday. It crashed 2 or 3 times while I was in character creation. When I started to play it crashed again several times Sometimes I couldn't even go pass the first cut scene.
Today there is an update. Now I can't start the game. It crashes at lunch when I press the Play button.
And my hardware is more then enough to play it - GTX3080, nvme ssd, 32 gb ram, 16 core cpu.
I'm going for refund and I'll wait few months before I try again
I’d really like to read a review of a game on its stand alone merits/issues/flaws rather than comparing to some other game of completely different name. I find these reviews lacking and damaging to a game that can have the potential to be awesome, creative and even build on flaws of its comparison game. A similar thing happened to a great game “Legend of Dragoon” when released it was compared to FF7 and it never recovered when in fact it was just as good if not better. So maybe actually put some thoughts into your reviews of actual flaws and improvements that can be made to the game. Rather than just comparing it to Divinity
After 2 year i want to say 9 updates and like 40 something hot fixes nothing has really change. You still get the same 15 hour play-through. Not worth getting in early access and at this point I don't know if it will live up to the BG2 name. Wait till it drops then read some reviews about the actual game before you decide to get this. Been in early access for a long time with no real changes. I played BG2 so when i saw this i jumped at it but after playing it I honestly would say wait don't get this game in early access. It never really runs smooth, glitches, lags while loading and it is really more like a demo. Casting spells and long rests go together like white on rice in this game, if you cast a spell you need a long rest so you can use it in the next fight. Which does not makes the game run fluid as you play through it. I really get the vibes like when Diablo 3 came out and just disappointed everyone tbh.
Don't give them any money for this not worth it.
