Baldur's Gate 3

The Baldur's Gate series helped get me through aweful childhood. I played everything and have a deep appreciation for the feel of the game. If a game is going to purport to be Baldur's Gate III, 23 years after the game's first release, I'm going to be very defensive about a game studio turning the game into something it shouldn't dare to be. If you love Baldur's Gate I & II, you must play Baldur's Gate III because it is exactly everything you know that it should be, and more than you ever could have dreamed or imaging would be an improvement. I was not excited nor interested in the announcement of the game years ago. The artistic direction of the game made it look like crap and something else. It just didn't look right. Well I finally picked it up and it's mind bending what an astounding over-achievement this is. The game comes as a complete shock. My first experience was that the camera angle is crap, the camera following is terrible, what the hell is wrong with the elevation camera changes, the controls are panning is crap, the video-like dialogue conversations are rubbish, the quality this, the art style that, and so on. Hours of playing bent my mind because there was something intangible that was mind-blowing to me but I couldn't integrate it into what I thought it was supposed to look and feel like. It took me hours and days of playing to integrate from my cognitive dissonance until the entire experience of the game finally coalesced into Baldur's Gate III. The game is jaw-droppingly good. You're constantly faced with real decisions. The game is so good that your roleplay of a good person can easily sway to the allure of power. In Baldur's Gate II Throne of Bhaal, your mettle was tested, to be sure, but nowhere else is the seduction of power so visceral that the game actually makes you WANT to give in. I've been playing multiplayer with my housemate and it's such a delight discovering not just the world, but what you'll wind up becoming in it. Wow. Play it.

BG1&BG2 are unplayable these days mainly because of the visuals and issues connected with that on new PCs. BG3 is a promising successor of previous ones, more appropriate for 21st century as from the visual so from the play mechanics point of view. Story yet to be judged. P.s.: It's kind of suffering to wait till 2023 release ...

Yeah the game has still a way to go but to be honest it’s more polished than most tripple a games these days.Its still baldurs gate but with larians spin on it but i would say it’s a divinity clone there are many things which are different.You definetly feel the higher budget right from the start and the motion capturing in this game is awesome.You are the hero of the story and the role play options are awesome.If you are a fan of rpgs and turn based combat this is the game for you plus if you don’t mind bugs and you want to support a great team.

I bought the game to support the developers. Played it for some time. Well, it's early access. It's definitely playable but not so much fun as it could be. I'm going to wait until it's done. If you've never played a Larian game go get and play DOS2 before this game. It's often on sale and it's awesome.

I've heard this game is great but I can't tell you how it is. I've spent 12 hours now downloading, installing, uninstalling, reinstalling, and redownloading. The game is riddled with file errors requiring you to dig into the folders and figure out what files need to be renamed or removed to appease the mismatched file errors. The game either crashes or prevents me from playing with my friend. I'm frankly exhausted and I haven 't seen more than 10 seconds of the opening cut scene this entire time. I've tried to get help from support and have only gotten a single response and haven't heard anything back since. I want to play this game so badly but I functionally can't get past the main menu. Do not buy this game until it has been seriously patched or you will be disappointed.
