Description

Cross-platform multiplayer with Steam is supported.

Gather your party, and return to the Forgotten Realms in a tale of fellowship and betrayal, sacrifice and survival, and the lure of absolute power.

Mysterious abilities are awakening inside you, drawn from a Mind Flayer parasite planted in your brain. Resist, and turn darkness against itself. Or embrace corruption, and become ultimate evil.

From the creators of Divinity: Original Sin 2 comes a next-generation RPG, set in the world of Dungeons and Dragons.

Choose from a wide selection of D&D races and classes, or play as an origin character with a hand-crafted background. Adventure, loot, battle and romance as you journey through the Forgotten Realms and beyond. Play alone, and select your companions carefully, or as a party of up to four in multiplayer.

Abducted, infected, lost. You are turning into a monster, but as the corruption inside you grows, so does your power. That power may help you to survive, but there will be a price to pay, and more than any ability, the bonds of trust that you build within your party could be your greatest strength. Caught in a conflict between devils, deities, and sinister otherworldly forces, you will determine the fate of the Forgotten Realms together.

Forged with the new Divinity 4.0 engine, Baldur’s Gate 3 gives you unprecedented freedom to explore, experiment, and interact with a world that reacts to your choices. A grand, cinematic narrative brings you closer to your characters than ever before, as you venture through our biggest world yet.

The Forgotten Realms are a vast, detailed and diverse world, and there are secrets to be discovered all around you -- verticality is a vital part of exploration. Sneak, dip, shove, climb, and jump as you journey from the depths of the Underdark to the glittering rooftops of the Upper City. How you survive, and the mark you leave on the world, is up to you.

allows you to combine your forces in combat, and split your party to follow your own quests and agendas. Concoct the perfect plan together… or introduce an element of chaos when your friends least expect it.

offer a hand-crafted experience, each with their own unique traits, agenda, and outlook on the world. Their stories intersect with the entire narrative, and your choices will determine whether those stories end in redemption, salvation, domination, or many other outcomes.

based on the D&D 5e ruleset. Team-based initiative, advantage & disadvantage, and roll modifiers join combat cameras, expanded environmental interactions, and a new fluidity in combat that rewards strategy and foresight.

through your choices, and the roll of the dice. No matter who you play, or what you roll, the world and its inhabitants will react to your story.

allows you to pause the world around you at any time even outside of combat. Whether you see an opportunity for a tactical advantage before combat begins, want to pull off a heist with pin-point precision, or need to escape a fiendish trap. Split your party, prepare ambushes, sneak in the darkness -- create your own luck!

Amazing game

I've played Baldur's gate 1 and 2 and the expansions (2+the expansion was my favorite game for a long time) and while this game has a different feel to it, it is just as amazing. The story is great, your choices affect future outcomes, you can play it many times and still not see all the content, there's relatively no major bugs as long as you don't use too many mods or try playing saves from a modded older version with a newer modded version (in which case you can encounter some pretty weird bugs), the graphics look amazing while not being too demanding on your computer (I have a ryzen 5600x, a radeon 6600 and 32GB ram and can play just fine at 1440p using fsr (before fsr 2 was added in one of the patches fsr 1 did look pretty bad, but fsr 2 looks fine) while still looking good and having decent fps).... obviously with a faster computer it would look better and run faster but you don't need some crazy expensive gpu/cpu to play it). Now it does have some flaws too and the review wouldn't be complete without mentioning them: - the evil play-through isn't as well done as the good/neutral and you do miss out on many quests (and thus experience, items and characters) + you can't be that evil - act 3 does feel incomplete and unfortunately the developers have decided to leave it that way and not make a dlc which would make it complete and tie up all lose ends, add some content for what happens after and raise the level cap - your level is capped at 12 which is annoying compared to bg2 + tob where you could get to 30+, especially considering you're supposed to be this epic hero fighting for the fate of Faerun. Imo it should go at least to 20. There are a few mods that unlock higher levels, I've only tried one which sets the level cap for all classes combined to 20, while each single class can still only go to lvl 12. It works pretty well and doesn't introduce any major bugs. - your camp clothes are pretty limited until act 3

Overrated Unoriginal Boring Clunky and Graphically Dated

Dragon Age Origins, Star Wars KOTOR, Mass Effect, Skyrim, and Neverwinter Nights walked into a bar. Somehow 8 months later this game appeared in our world. This game lacks any creativity, originally, or anything revolutionary. It is just a generic obsolete turned based 'RPG' with no choices and graphics straight out of 2003. The controls are incredibly clunky leading to non stop fighting the camera, doing things you don't want to like stealing or attack the wrong person or attacking the ground. Not to mention it's a pain to use the camera during combat. Or even talking to your companions when you meant to move forward. The plot is so generic and unroginal you're the chosen one and must save the world from a great evil. The end. Lame. Companions are all generic and boring as well. They're also just knock offs of older Bioware companions like Morrigan, Ash, Miranda, Liara, Jacob, etc. I got to the goblin camp after hours of frustration then gave up. It is one of the most overrated garbage games of all time alongside The Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, Animal Crossing New Horizons, The Last of Us, DOOM, HALO, and more. If you want a generic clunky top down PS2 point and click obsolete turn based combat game with nothing going for it. Then get the game. Not even worth a GOG Giveaway. Instant regret, want my money back. The normies keep proving that if a game is being mindlessly praised like Baldur's Gate 3. It's truly a bad game that only Sheep will love.

Original Sin 3 Ascent of the Mind Flayer

It looks like someone is trying to do a Divinity Original Sin game, that is running on the D&D 5th Ed rules and is full of the Dragon Age style cutscenes ... I do have a very mixed feelings from this. It is not bad, even in this state, it is very fun, but I hope that I will be able to continue with the party I have already, because I do not have any intention to play anything here for the 2nd time. I usually don't enjoy the combat in the RPG and I like when it can be solved in the different way, but here I just want to hack & slash through everything, because almost everybody here is annoying. Ou and the combat and rules mechanics are the best part of this game so far. It can improve, it is just early access, I played for 8th hours and there is a long way ahead.

It is good but as others say it is DOS

I like it but my problem is that I love all the character classes and the variety, this game, at least right now in 2020, is basically Divinity's latest engine with a cosmetic makeover, and of course they have scrapped any actions or spells that would break the walled area approach. I think Solasta is more what I was thinking of when I heard they were doing a DnD crossover title. It is still enjoyable but DnD was never meant to be played in three dimensions so spells and special actions, etc, they are all geared toward table top imagination settings. Currently the highest level is 4 and everyone knows Wizards do not even get interesting until level 8 and beyond. I will still play it though, but I have to say I hate Divinity's map and waypoint system. The little floating crystal ball where nothing looks right and you still can't tell where you is the outstanding thing that I hated about Divinity. You can either level up your character stats or take a feature which is not so true to the way the classes work. They may change that or not, probably not. The cool part of DnD was that you could customize your character to really good at something, in this setting it is basically damage dealing is what you are going for. There is not much of an illusion class in this one and they focus too much on hidden buttons, puzzles, and things you easily miss because of camera angle. So it uses the 3D element to hide stuff from you. Where as you would make a simple perception check in the tabletop, now you have to scroll and zoom in constantly and pixel hunt with your mouse pointer.
