I love games with a story driven narrative where choices matter and effect how the story develops and BG3 does that better than any other game I have played. Nearly all the choices you make feel impactful and have consequences of some kind on the overarching story.
All the dialogue and voice acting is top notch. Larian spent a lot of time patching the game after launch with many additional features that they didn't have to add, which is awesome. You can tell this game was a labor of love.
Can't recommend more highly, even if turn based strategy games are not your thing you may enjoy it anyways just due to the sheer quality of the game. It certainly deserves all the awards it has won.
It's been whole year since I bought this game and I barely play anything else. I finished my first playthrough as custom character Tav after 200+ hours. Now I have three playthroughs at the same time, one game on single player as Dark Urge and two on multi. Now that patch7 arrived with mod manager everyone on multi can have at least one companion for themselves.
I never played any dnd also never played any turn-based game in my life but everything is really well explain in this game without interfering into your gameplay.
If you want compelling main story and even side quests with incredible well write companions then this is game for you. You don't care about story but still want game with great gameplay? This is also game for you <3
Loved the first 2 games and Dvinity Original Sin 2. This game is a fantastic amalgamation of the two styles and has lots of mods available. Highly reccomended for any RPG fans.
The title says it all. If you enjoy RPGs, of any permutation, then you are probably already sold. If you enjoy story driven games, strap in for a choose your own path through a grand adventure worthy of the Dungeons & Dragons name.
Anyone who has a passing interest in mature themed, complex characters will enjoy this. The art direction, to put it mildly, nailed every facet of the world and over times, mods will only allow it to continue to grow and grow.
Do yourself a favor and load up your first of what I promise will become many playthroughs, either solo or with friends.
Love it! My only critique would be that some quests can be easily missed if you dont do them in a particular order with no clues to inform you of this.
