Gather your party, and return to the Forgotten Realms in a tale of fellowship and betrayal, sacrifice and survival, and the lure of absolute power.
Mysterious abilities are awakening inside you, drawn from a Mind Flayer parasite planted in your brain. Resist, and turn darkness against itself. Or embrace corruption, and become ultimate evil.
From the creators of Divinity: Original Sin 2 comes a next-generation RPG, set in the world of Dungeons and Dragons.
Choose from a wide selection of D&D races and classes, or play as an origin character with a hand-crafted background. Adventure, loot, battle and romance as you journey through the Forgotten Realms and beyond. Play alone, and select your companions carefully, or as a party of up to four in multiplayer.
Abducted, infected, lost. You are turning into a monster, but as the corruption inside you grows, so does your power. That power may help you to survive, but there will be a price to pay, and more than any ability, the bonds of trust that you build within your party could be your greatest strength. Caught in a conflict between devils, deities, and sinister otherworldly forces, you will determine the fate of the Forgotten Realms together.
Forged with the new Divinity 4.0 engine, Baldur’s Gate 3 gives you unprecedented freedom to explore, experiment, and interact with a world that reacts to your choices. A grand, cinematic narrative brings you closer to your characters than ever before, as you venture through our biggest world yet.
The Forgotten Realms are a vast, detailed and diverse world, and there are secrets to be discovered all around you -- verticality is a vital part of exploration. Sneak, dip, shove, climb, and jump as you journey from the depths of the Underdark to the glittering rooftops of the Upper City. How you survive, and the mark you leave on the world, is up to you.
allows you to combine your forces in combat, and split your party to follow your own quests and agendas. Concoct the perfect plan together… or introduce an element of chaos when your friends least expect it.
offer a hand-crafted experience, each with their own unique traits, agenda, and outlook on the world. Their stories intersect with the entire narrative, and your choices will determine whether those stories end in redemption, salvation, domination, or many other outcomes.
based on the D&D 5e ruleset. Team-based initiative, advantage & disadvantage, and roll modifiers join combat cameras, expanded environmental interactions, and a new fluidity in combat that rewards strategy and foresight.
through your choices, and the roll of the dice. No matter who you play, or what you roll, the world and its inhabitants will react to your story.
allows you to pause the world around you at any time even outside of combat. Whether you see an opportunity for a tactical advantage before combat begins, want to pull off a heist with pin-point precision, or need to escape a fiendish trap. Split your party, prepare ambushes, sneak in the darkness -- create your own luck!
So what can you say about BG3 except it is SPECTACULAR!!! This game is COMPLETE and going right off the bat. There are NO extra expensive "upgrades" to keep buying like in other games.
I am not far in and found the game to be very challenging. Based on your character class and abilities (and some luck in your rolls) things can be very different than your intended path. Let's face it, sometimes you just arn't that convincing when you are caught with your hand in the cookie jar.
Save frequently, because mistakes can be deadly and that means you can restart your game from there.
I absolutely LOVE this game and Larian for making such an outstanding product!
And thank you to GOG for allowing the purchaser to actually OWN their game. It is the way it should be.
One of the best rpg's i've ever played. The plot isn't something new, but it's the characters that makes this game completely unforgetable. This is one of those games that you'll be playing over and over
I really enjoyed NWN 1 & 2. I would min-max my deep gnome monk to walk all over things. I was glad to see that one could play as a deep gnome, but he did lose some of his overpowerness, but they just simplified things. I do perfer 3rd edition rules more as I like choices. Only a little ways into the game and I'm glad they made another dnd game like this.
An absolute master piece from the studio that will hopefully bring the soul back into the development of AAA games. Baldur's Gate 3 is much more than just a hallmark in the history of RPGs -- which it is in its own right -- it is also a testament to the fact that a huge RPG title *can* be developed outside of the monitization driven development cycle most large studios are pushing today.
Thank you Larian for taking a stance!
BG3 is simply a masterpiece in almost every concievable way. the characters, story, voice acting, graphics, art style, music, atmosphere, and so much more are all above and beyond any reasonable expectation.
but above all else, it's really fun and has immese replay value.
it's not going to be for everyone, it has a turn based combat systemwhich i know immediately turns some people off, but i strongly urge you to try BG3 anyway. i can't promise it's going to change your mind on turn based combat but i truely believe you will find great enjoyment in the game regardless. its turn based nature allows a level of tactical depth to combat that simply wouldn't be possible in a real time combat system and lends itself well to a party based game like this.
