Egrossing fun
There are so many ways to play this game and so many paths to discovers. I have almost 150 hours in the game and there are still builds I want to try and different story paths to explore!

A worthy RPG
I am not a great fan of turn-based combat but am glad I picked this game up and pushed through. It's a deep and rewarding RPG experience with an interesting set of characters and decent main story. The atmosphere of the environments is great, though I did get bogged down in act 3 and never managed to finish the game. I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent in it.

Not A Baldur's Gate Game, It's DOS 3
This game cost $100 million dollars and has a laughably lazy level cap and combat system. Not to mention that there will be no expansions. You can level to 12 (awful) with no expansions to increase level cap or followup games to expand your character. This is laughably pathetic when you see the leveling BG 1&2 and Pathfinder were able to implement with a miniscule fraction of the funding. Combat is Turn Based. Oh yeah, you better believe they implemented a combat system from the 70s instead of the combat system BG 1&2 and Pathfinder implemented. On a miniscule fraction of the budget. Oh, and there's a(nother) reason it's called DOS 3, if you were expecting them to expand the story from its consecutive sequels you'd be sorely mistaken. Oh and if you expected a good framework for everything to rest on you'll be sorely disappointed given how trash 5e is compared to Pathfinder, AD&D, and 3.5e. And if you're a summoner you're left with the most pathetic summoning builds I've seen in a game that isn't an MMO. So we have a game with an irrelevant story, objectively worse combat and leveling, and a horrifically bad P&P framework. So why did it win GOTY? Despite being incredibly regressive in literally every way but one, it is incredibly progressive with its non-nude (LMFAO) romance scenes. Apparently that's enough despite the fact that the phenomenal interpersonal relationship system (that actually manages to innovate beyond the incredible bar set by the original BG games, which is awesome) should have been attached to a game that isn't hot ass.
