Trust me, the nay-sayers in other comments are the outliers and/or outright payed negative reviewers. If you enjoy DnD, you will most likely enjoy this, even if you never played a Larian game before. If you are a returning Larian players, it's a no brainer, you WILL love it. Trust me, it's good one!

This is my first time ever playing a Larian's game which means this game is pretty unqiue and interesting for a player like me to hop onto the wagon and play. Does this game have a few bugs to be fix? Yes. Could hit or miss chance during combat be tuned just right where your outcome isn't always MISS? Yes! Could some lip sync be fix among the characters? Yes. Keep in mind THIS IS EARLY ACCESS!! Which means the game is always improving! How Larian is going with BG3 I have no doubts that once this game is finish it will be a hit! The game is beautiful in looks and in writing! My companions are interesting and unqiue in their own way. Voice acting is awesome! I always found myself wanting to explore and learn more of my fellow companions. (*coughs-Astarion-*coughs). The game feels real! You as the main character for sure feels the protagonist role. Which I forgot to mention this game gives you the opportunity to make who you want to be come to life! Rather you want to be hero or the villian.. its up to you! If I want to be play as a character that does anything to survive but also still has the heart to help those she care's for? I can do that here! For those who are being a little to harsh on BG3 just always remember, before something can fully florish it must take its time to grow.... Overall opinion? Yes I would recommend this game to anyone looking for in-depth roleplaying role game, or just checking to try something new and fresh.

As a big BG fan myself I am quite interested in the game, *but*... This is 2020. Could you please review the game on it's own merits rather than on how exactly like an over 20 year old game it is?! - It does not have handdrawn backgrounds anymore? Eh.. I liked those. They were nifty at the time, but they are not the core of what made BG BG. - BG3 finally moves a tiny bit away from the rac.. sorry, specicist and incredible dumb "good race - evil race" schtick? About ducking time! #notallorcs Isn't the question more whether BG3 has people like Jan Jansen, Minsc and Anomen? How intricate the story is? (And let's face it... storywise BG could have learned quite a bit from PS:T..) Whether we rejoice finding a +1 weapon and run from icewulfs like in BG1, or leave anything below +4 and solo dragons for breakfast like in ToB? (ok, the intro kind of answers that, but you see the point?)

Bravo! So for me this hits ALL of the BIG criteria, that I hope to find in a game and more. Especially because of the fact that it is in pre-release and how theyare VALUING inout from the community. I cannot wait for the FULL game... So EXCITED!!! Can you tell?
