Baldur’s Gate 3 is something special, though. Its complexity is intimidating, but sticking with it and learning has such a high reward threshold that it's hard to not recommend the sequel to even the most casual gamers out there. It has heart, it has style, and it has the multi-year effort of a studio that obviously loves its source material. The mind-blowing size of the game itself and everything contained within is a testament to Larian Studios' dedication to its craft and commitment to bringing something incredible to the gaming public. The blend of the various Dungeon & Dragons systems into the game is almost flawless in its execution, and the math and storytelling combo does a one-two punch on almost every other RPG game out there. High quality and astoundingly fun, Baldur’s Gate 3 may just become the kind of game that old and new fans can agree is something extraordinary.

It's alright.
This has the groundwork of an amazing game, but there are some hiccups that really drag the experience. This is yet another game where persuasion and high charisma are compleely overpowered. It's not Falloout New Vegas overpowered, but it feel like half the game's content and most worthwhile rewards (and most practical solutions) are locked behind persuade options. Pile this ontop of near X-Com levels of rng, and you have this odd mix of a great narrative experience and the beautiful, smooth visuals and combat we love from Divinity, and then.. there is this really grating film over it that is just infuratingly frustrating. The load times are just outright irresponsible for a game that functionally demands this amount of save scumming- and this WILL try your patience, when you back-to-back fail some of the most trivial rolls imaginable. This is partially because it falls into the trap of trying to make choices 'meaningful' by backloading content and rewards behind multiple rng gates, posed as 'consequences for failure'.. which is less and less meaningful when you come to realize that the rng gates functionally remove all player agency from the equation. Ultimately, it isn't about the choices you make, just how good you roll. That isn't a good kind of throwback.

Copy of Divinity:OS series
I would paid even 60$ if it would be "Baldur's gate" series, but no - it's like Divinity Original Sin series. I am slightly disappointed with what happened to such a recognizable brand. Pity.

What Dragon Age hasn't been in 14 years
I played the early access build on a...not so legal copy and fell in love with the game and the depth of choices and consequences. Had never played a Baldur's Gate game before but this had me hooked. Once I found out it supported DLSS and was going to be released DRM-Free on GOG, I bought it immediately. Thank you for making such an amazing game and keeping it DRM-Free.

The "party" system kinda sucks. One character can enter dialogue. Anyone else has to stand around with a thumb up their arse and tape across their mouths. gods forbid hearing an opinion from someone before you make a choice. But if you absolutely need a naked gnome, here ya go. it shouldnt be given praise because there arent micro transactions. controller setup isnt fantastic. lots of menus to cycle through, without a way of customizing them (at least from i saw). No cursor size adjustments in game. Only dialogue fonts can be resized.
