Classic Renewed
Same game I played over 20 years ago. Not exactly updaed, but made a bit eaiser to play on modern hardware. If you're used to modern CRPGs this may throw you for a loop, but stick with it. Great story and power fantasy by the end of the expansion your characters are basically demigods.

Baldur's Gate II
Best of the Infinity Engine games, a classic masteroiece from Bioware before they were gobbled up by Electronic Arts.

Undisputed master
I still play this game to this day. Not a year goes by without a new playthrough, it's just that good. Modding is somewhat easy, especially if you only want to mod in fixes, ease of use, and some universally accepted improvements/changes/additions.
