The first impressions of Aven Colony are great, as you build your first colony, finding your way on this alien world. It doesn't take too long before you start to see the limitations, whether by design or by mistake, leaving this as a city builder that's easy to pick up and play, but one that could do with a little more depth.

better than I thought it would be
Got this in a group of games, and I wasn't even interested in it. Bet it is actually pretty good. has a few quirks, but i really enjoy it.

It's OK
Not a bad game, although the campaign is a bit short. No crashes on my computer. The gameplay is fairly simple, but lacks depth: - Poluting buildings are easily offset by an air filter - there is no bonus for placing like-buiildings together - the trading interface with outpost colonies is crude. Could use a QoL update, but looks like the devs have moved on. It'll go on sale for 80% off; seems like a good price for about 20 hours.

Gorgeous, lots of potential, enjoyed it
Hi, I got this game on sale and really enjoyed it. There are 12ish campaign missions. The idea of drugging colonists is a nice dystopian touch. The music is amazing. The game could use a more interesting campaign (there was alot of talk about someone who was knocked unconscious, but it didn't affect the game play at all). It didn't feel like there was much at stake. Overall, it was a nice experience. There is definitely an opportunity for an interesting sequel.
